Congrats to WW on what sounds like more than an incredible game. I would have loved to see it, but was lucky enough to see you guys in action against SJU. Very impressive, but I think you topped it today. I suggest that if you win it all, you have your school make/sell a DVD of the Stagg Bowl and today's game. It will definitely be a top seller.

You beat a great team today, but have two more games till you can rest. Good luck the rest of the way.

Oh, and of course, bring it back to the West ;D

Congrats to Whitewater, you guy's are a great squad.
Beaver is a very talented young rb.  Wouldn't be surprised if he makes an NFL roster in a few years.

Turnover's killed the Cat's, but you guy's were definitely the best team we've played all year, and good at creating to's, (8 against St. Johns)

The Linfield team last year was more balanced on offense then this years team.  In the end, I think that's what we needed more of was a good running game here and there to keep you guy's off balance and to control the ball a little more.

Hey, great job fellas and keep it rollin.

Never thought I would ever see the Catdome.  Oh how easy would it be to say, "been there done that", but I couldn't disrespect a great team like Linfield.

As I walked around the field at pregame I was impressed by their size.  And Elliot and his core of receivers were incredible!  They threw their best at Whitewater all day and the Hawk ran their best in reply.  I think the Warhawk passing game out shined the Linfield running attack as did the Warhawk defence.

This was by far this was the best game I've seen in my 5 years of following Division III football.  Looking forward to Wesley in Whitewater next week. Snow and cold!! Now thats December in Wisconsin.

GREAT JOB WARHAWKS!

D O.C.

I have not seen it mentioned yet but that WW interception for a TD was caused by WW defense hitting Brett's arm in motion. The run back was exciting because all the LINFIELD speed was on the grandstand side of the field and that playoff TD was not going to be denied to that big 'o boy once he cut NE. No one LINFIELD tackler was going to stop him.

My wife has me on suicide watch.    Linfield lost and Wisconsin-Whitewater won.

Whitewater is best team Linfield played since St. Johns two years ago.     Congrats Warhawks---you earned and deserved the win.

Why did Linfield lose?     Simple:

•   No rushing attack

•   Too many penalties - 7 for 80 yards.   (91 for year; too many!)

•   Questionable play calling
No possible running attack.    Elliott in shotgun too                                                  much, no runner in backfield, 5 receivers.

2 long passes on Linfield's next to last possession.     They had lead 41-37; should have tried shorter passes just to get first down and KEEP THE BALL to run out the clock.

Yes, Elliott's pass interception in 2nd qtr.  hurt badly.    Pass should have never been thrown.

Sure, some penalties were questionable.    But, the Wildcats had too many penalties all year long.

Nevertheless, it was a great game.     Very similar to the Southern Oregon game three years ago.    Today, Wisconsin Whitewater took advantage of Linfield's weaknesses.    (shocking: Linfield was not perfect.)

So, again the slim few, arrogant posters, who believe Linfield will never lose, were wrong.    Overconfidently predicting Linfield will blow out any team is just silly.   Over-zealous boasting does not do Linfield proud.     Fortunately; that is just a very tiny minority of Linfield fans.

Next year: Linfield find a balanced offense.

Congratulations Wisoncin-Whitewater!

GO CATS GO!

Hey george I had to recheck the Linfield Football site to see if you were on the frickin coaching staff.  If you were a real fan you would take the loss like a man, stand behind the program and move on.  YOU ARE A LOSER in  my book

Why don't you Linfield fans do your fighting among yourselves, or at least on the NWC board. Keep it off the WIAC board.

Phone it in, GHC.

A good 6 inches of snow fell on WW tonight.   the true wisconsinits were out in force at the fine drinking establishments here celebrating our hawks.  just showing that if given the oppertunity we can all shine in bad weather,     hope the Hawks can do the same next week.

Carpediem104

so how about them warhawks? that was the most stressful game ive ever listened to. i wish it would have been on tv here, sounded like a hell of a game. have to give props to linfield, game could have gone either way. glad to see whitewater come out on top though.

they should organize some kind of charter bus to go down to the championship game if ww wins saturday. ive talked to a lot of people who would be interested in going

Congratulations!  WarHawks...I will not he surprised to see you guys go all the way...I will be watching with interest.  I hope some of you had a chance to meet some of the Cat Fans at the pre-game festivities.  With all the game faces put aside, we are a pretty interesting group of people.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

Congrats to the warhawks,  very hard fought game against a great linfield team.

Well since I am now back in the States it looks like I will be able to finally see a game (only the second I will have seen from the stands.. last one in 95').

oldpa, three3's, voice  and the rest of the WW faithful hope to meet some of you.
I know that a few of my ex-teamates will be there so it should be a great time.

oldpa,  will you still be drinking beer out of the trunk of you car?

Why would Pat Cummings take the time to post the following comments unless he felt this south team representative, Wesley, will be completely overlooked and uncared for?

The fact is this game will be a mauling and after seeing the type of team WWW is, I do not believe there will be any oversight on the part of the WarHawks!

If by chance Wesley were to come away the winner (no way this will happen playing at Perkins Stadium), I will personally meet Pat Cummings in Eau Claire, WI and purchase for him the best Philly Cheese Steak this side of Philadelphia at Cicione's.

I still haven't been able to bring myself to read a printed word of what the WarHawks did to the Johnnies last week.  I can tell you this however, THIS is WhiteWater's year.

No luck needed, you guys are too workman like, so just have fun and enjoy the holidays.

developing.....

Hey WIAC folks - this is Pat Cummings from d3football.com.  Most of you don't know me because I am an east/south region guy.  A couple Wesley thoughts for you...

1.  There aren't many posters for Wesley - so your best info will come from people like me who have called 2 of their last 3 games for the site, Bridgewater fans who are frequent posters and just got blown apart today, and an occasional Wesley poster.

2.  To be honest, don't try to understand Wesley's lone blemish on the season, the 47-0 loss at Brockport.  It doesn't make sense in the grand scheme of things - the team that is playing now is not the same.  That game was such an extreme outlier.

3.  Trying to learn more about Wesley?  Read their stat sheets.  End of story.  It tells you all you want to know.  This is a straight-out, hard-nosed football team that goes out and plays the game.  No smoke and mirrors, no fancy option, no nutty trick plays.

QB Chris Warrick throws a bullet, their main receivers, Marcus Lee and Larry Beavers (yes, another Beaver...) are explosive and just a frosh/soph respectively.  Curtis Gore and Tim Bayles make catches too.  This is a team that will beat you for an 85 yard bomb just as quickly as a 5 yard quick slant that explodes for 85 yards.  The Wolverines block downfield incredibly well.

RB Kevin Nelson is 5-3 - and he gets yards.  He's not exciting, he's a grinder.  Only about 900 yards all season, but he too is a major outlet for Warrick - passing frequently to Nelson out of the backfield.

The defense has been superb - most specifically the right DE Bryan Robinson.  All-American no doubt.  And just a sophomore.

A few interesting stats...coming into today, Wesley forced 35 fumbles and recovered 22 of them.

Against UMHB, Wesley scored 46 points in 6:16 of possession overall, not consecutively (and that includes defensive scores).  Take away one long drive and Wesley scored 39 points in 2:01.  They held the ball for 18 minutes and beat UMHB 46-39, scoring four TDs off of four UMHB fumbles.

Wesley will make you regret your mistakes.

I'll be out to Whitewater to broadcast for NCAASports.com/D3football.com

I don't think Eau Claire is on Pat's itinerary. Kind of out of the way from O'Hare. :)

I also don't see anywhere in there where Pat said Wesley would win.

I can only echo the sentiments of many others who've commented on what an exciting game it was to listen to and I can only imagine what it was like in person.  The crowd at Saxes went wild.   Wayne even bought a round he was so excited.  :D

Congrats to Linfield.  They are truely a fine team.  Elloitt is something else and the receivers were very, very good.  It seemed like a game that the team with the ball last would win.  I couldn't believe we'd go scoreless twice on first and goal inside the five, nobody has done that to us all year, but fortunately, in the end, our defense made some plays too and the offense came through one more time.

I hope the Linfield crowd understands that my comments about the county fairgrounds were meant tongue in cheek and simply a part of the friendly banter that went on leading up to the game.  I'm told your facilities are very nice and it's obvious you support them wholeheartedly.

Congrats WARHAWKS[/color].  Now the challenge, in adddition to preparing for Wesley, becomes convincing the team that we didn't win the National Championship yesterday.  We can't lose focus and let down.  This thing isn't over yet and tough competition is still to be overcome.

I was just giving the WIAC folks a brief on Wesley...

Chances are, those who post here don't have a clue about the only D3 football school in Delaware...So I was trying to keep the "what is wesley like" queries to a minimum...
