Wisconsin-Whitewater fans,

Remember what FootballFan413 just posted.  How impressed he was by Linfield's hospitality.  I am a fan and alumni of Bridgewater who will be rooting for YOUR team next weekend.  Why?  Well, I probably would have wanted you guys anyway because I am a Packers fan, but mostly because of the rudeness of many of the Wesley fans in Delaware.  The prior week, we were "treated" to Thiel College fans, who treated us as warmly as I have ever been treated as a visitor.  Most of the Wesley fans were quite the opposite; very rude.  Your hospitality, or lack thereof, will be remembered by the opposing team's fans.

After all, this is D3 football, just a small albeit important, part of life.

Good luck on Saturday.  I hope your team, players, and coaches do not take Wesley lightly.  They are big and fast.  Bridgewater is known for our team speed, but they were much faster...and MUCH bigger.  Your guys will need to play as well as they played yesterday to beat them.  Yes, they are that good.  Do NOT underestimate them.

If you guys make it to the Stagg Bowl, please look for the huge Bridgewater flag.  I may or may not be there, but the "Stone Station" crew will be.  These BC alum have been to every Stagg Bowl since 2001.  They welcome all D3 football posters.

Again good luck, and please BEAT WESLEY!!!

Again Warhawk, please don't underestimate your opponent.  I know you have beaten the #1 and #3 teams in the country, and you have reason to be proud and confident.  But Wesley is vastly underrated.  Do not take them lightly.  Please!

I was just giving the WIAC folks a brief on Wesley...

Chances are, those who post here don't have a clue about the only D3 football school in Delaware...So I was trying to keep the "what is wesley like" queries to a minimum...

Pat speaks the truth! The Bridgewater faithful asked how a 5'3" RB named Kevin Nelson could be an AA candidate. He noted that it was the dump-off passes that he will kill you the most with. Sure enough there were at least 5 plays where Nelson leaked out of the backfield to catch a third option outlet pass. One of such plays he took about 65yrds to the 1 yrd line. Bottom line, once he is in space, good luck, at 5'3" he moves like Barry Sanders on a dry field. They also exploit the quick hitting slants and bubble screens to perfection. Larry Beavers is another burner and major trouble in space.

The key will be establishing and sticking with the run against Wesley. BC went away from it and was sacked 8 times. Their D-line is big and quick on the corners but does give up yards if you stick with it. In BC's case that run game stopped inside their 30 yrd lines. If UWW keeps their speed guys bottled up and not in space they have a good shot a shutting them down. Should be a great game and I can't wait to hear Pat's call on Saturday!

Huh? What do you mean?

You trashed Pat for dropping some of his Wesley knowledge on the board, saying you were sure the coaches would do their own scouting.

Pat Cummings, at WW we have coaches who look at film and game plan. We don't rely on d3football.com posters for information.

I said, duh, he's not talking for the coaches, he's talking for the fans.

What's to be confused about, other than why you would turn up your nose at free info?

I think it's the kodak site. If anyone else has this problem, send me a PM and I will e-mail an invite. Yours is on the way SeoulGuy.

CaptainKurt

If anyone wants a playoff bracket up to date, check this out.  Made for very easy reading.

Like most of you, my first impression of Wesley was to take a look at their ranking by this website as of the last week of the regular season.  When I did and saw that they were 24th, I felt good.  That didn't last long.  They're primed to make anyone look bad.  It's obvious, they are in the Final 4, representing the South: they're good.  But I don't see UWW looking ahead to Mount Union or Rowan.  Word to your mothers.

CaptainKurt

Never mind about the bracket for now.  I can't attach Excel files to this board.

It sure seems as though many Warhawk fans are still caught up in the hoopla of beating #1 ranked and defending national champion Linfield. I sure hope those same fans understand that a very good team stands in the way of WW earning a trip to Salem in two weeks.  Wesley is a very dangerous team because of their offensive capability.  Since their only loss of the season to SUNY Brockport, the Wolverines have won by the scores of:  63-19, 59-13 and in the playoffs, 59-14, 46-36 at 4th ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor, and 46-6 over 17th ranked Bridgewater (VA).

Wesley averages 44 points a game and has passed for nearly 3,700 yards. It is my opinion that Wesley deserves a hell of a lot of respect and it they will be a VERY formidible foe for the Warhawks at Perkins Stadium on Saturday.

Lets "Pack the Perk" on Saturday!

Congrats to UWW-- a deserving West region representative.  Let the rest of the nation know the West is best.

Enjoy the journey, and we'd love to see you raising the Walnut in Salem, so get it done!

Just got home from traveling all day and I am exhausted but wanted to come on and tell the Linfield players, coaches, fans and posters, especially GHC and wildcat11, etc, what a remarkable time I had and how much we enjoyed their hospitality!  It was crime that one of those teams had to loose!  Your stadium was very impressive and the tailgaters and fans were very welcoming.  We even had some great tailgaters feed some of us and it was terrific.  You are right, your QB is something quite special and his play really must be witnessed to be believed.  Such a quick and accurate release!! And great recievers as well. The Wildcats are an amazing football team!! Good luck to Brett and we will be toasting him when he signs his first NFL contract!  The town, campus and people of Linfield College and McMinnville did themselves proud.  You were gracious hosts and the Warhawk family thanks you!  It seems to me that it wasn't about who made the most big plays as it was who made the last big play.  10 lead changes and over 1,000 yards of offense.  The greatest football game I have ever witnessed!

Best of luck on your journey--Bring it home

reality check

First off congrats to the Warhawks for the win this weekend at Linfield.

I was looking through the frontpage and seeing how the playoff records have changed this season and was surprised that the WIAC is sub-.500 since the playoffs expanded.  I have always held WIAC football in the highest regard (along with my OAC of course) and wondered if someone that knows about the historical playoff information could enlighten me as to the reasons (in their opinion of course) that the WIAC has not fared better in the playoffs.  It is just hard to believe that the three wins this year so far but WWW matches the total number of wins the WIAC has had since the playoffs expanded.  I look forward to someone's insight and more enlightened opinion on this one.

Best of luck once again on your path towards Salem.

Congrats WARHAWKS[/color].  Now the challenge, in adddition to preparing for Wesley, becomes convincing the team that we didn't win the National Championship yesterday.  We can't lose focus and let down.  This thing isn't over yet and tough competition is still to be overcome.
