This years horrible bowl games demonstrates more than ever how boring the bowl games can be......and how much more exciting a playoff system resulting in a championship would be.....It's all about $$ and the greed of the NCAA.....Too bad it would be really fun to watch instead of bowl games practically a month after the season ended......Pound the Rock! BOOM!!.....

There's that color purple again!!  ;)

I was thinking along the same lines. It almost looked like a Warhawk/Johnnie game. Complete with the result (lately)

I hated the play call on the two point conversion attempt.  Clay was running over the Horned Frogs and getting 5-7 yards at a pop but wasn't even on the field.  POUND THE ROCK

I totally agree with you BW. Why throw it when you have been running the ball down their throats with Clay.
What really boggles my mind is the field goal clock management issue at the end of the first half. Why not use the timeouts and try and score a TD. You had enough time with the TO's that if you don't make a TD then kick the field goal.

KitchenSink

Count me in that group - the 2 point play was dumb.  You want to throw a pass - well, not a great idea because a run between the tackles with Clay was a pretty sure thing - to play action if you want to throw. Dumb.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

The TE was wide open in the endzone....too bad the pass got deflected.

Felt sorry for the for the Wisconsin players, since they played well, but IMHO, the coaches blew the game for the Badgers, no clock management at the end of the 2nd quarter (what were they thinking) and the 2-pt conversion, wow!  :(

I think TCU was pretty impressive. Their players certainly had an effect on the outcome. Wisconsin db's couldn't cover anybody. The better team won, it wasn't the coaches fault IMO

I would agree.  Granted a different play call with a better chance of success at the end would have been good to force the OT but as a whole, I thought TCU had a good game plan, played with more energy and confidence and had an explosive offense. They caught the Badgers sleeping on the first TD, got up on them early and did what they had to do.  Chalk one up for the little guys.  I thought they were impressive as well.  Sorry, Badger fans.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong................  ;)

Just glad the Packers won, so we didn't have to declare a state-wide suicide watch today.

I was a little bummed that Badgers lost, but I just can't shake the realization anymore that except for the title game, bowl games are really no more than glorified exhibition games. TCU and UW are both done for the year, and neither one has a national title or the chance to get one. What's the difference really?

Way back in the day, bowls games actually were exhibitions.  Some coaches didn't even bring their seniors along, so they could get experience for underclassmen.

I'm more than a little disappointed in the UWW posters here. You should be dismissive about OWO's, and anyone else's claims to be able to challengs the MIGHTY WARHAWKS. Damn, you've earned the right. ;D

Something like:

The Titans couldn't beat the Warhawks, even if they were the Tennessee Titans.

C'MON!!

I don't recall the last time UW-O beat the WARHAWKS and we've owned them for the past two decades at least.

How's that retagent.  :D

Seriously I think the Titans are starting to put the pieces together and if they get stronger defensively they'll be a competitive program.

UWO last beat UWW on Nov. 16, 2002 at home 21-20

BW- The titans beat the Hawks in 2002 in oshkosh 21-20. After the season the league office had determined that Oshkosh had used ineligible players and had to forfeit the game. I don't cosider that a W for the hawlks because we lost the game on the field. However I do remember coach Brez and the other coaches claiming it as a W. It also hurt as WW had a chance for the playoffs if they won the game.
So they beat us in 2002 in oshkosh 21-20. Unless you consider the whole forfeit. thing which i don't because the game is won and lost on the FIELD.

I agree that TCU was more prepared, more agressive and the better team on the field. They deserved to win, but being prepared is the coach's job, I think. I will say, it was nice to see another purple team win! ;D

It is becoming more obvious that purple is a Championship color! ;D
