I think TCU was pretty impressive. Their players certainly had an effect on the outcome. Wisconsin db's couldn't cover anybody. The better team won, it wasn't the coaches fault IMO

I agree that TCU was more prepared, more agressive and the better team on the field. They deserved to win, but being prepared is the coach's job, I think. I will say, it was nice to see another purple team win! ;D

It is becoming more obvious that purple is a Championship color! ;D

Raider, I'm not sure TCU deserved to win. There are no entitlements at this level. They didn't look well prepared on the WIS fake punt. They undoubtedly saw the exact play on film from the Iowa game so they had to know it was possible. The missed WIS FG turned out to be the difference in the game. TCU made a big time play when it mattered most - WIS didn't execute. Both teams can lay claim that they could've won. ;) Hard for me to say one team is more agressive and a better team in a two point differential.

BTW, that Stanford run at their own 2 vs Tech looked like a hole opened up by the UWW o-line...the only difference would be our #33 would have taken it 98 yards!!  ;)

Did you see the hole Stanford's line opened for their first TD (a 60 yard run)?  GEEZ, even I could have gained 40 yards (at 62, I'm sure someone would have caught me from behind before I got all 60 :D)!  And VT's only TD was the play of the year - Tyrod Taylor was chased into what would be a 10-yard sack; 2 inches from the sideline he planted his foot, spun around, and threw a strike into the endzone!  Unfrigginbelievable! :o

That was a heck of a throw.  I couldn't believe he'd completed it.

Should be an interesting off season. Wondering how many different organizations will toss around Lance's name to fill any coaching positions they might have.

I read on a Clemson Tiger's message board that a poster had watched the Stagg Bowl and he wouldn't mind seeing Lance fill Clemson's vacant OC position.

On the Wisconsin scout.com website someone said that if Paul Chryst leave that Bielema should try and hire Lance as his OC. I know that would be a jump but it would be a good one for him as Lance was at the UW when they went to the first RB back in the 1993 season.
I honestly don't think he is going anywhere.

Bleed, thanks for doing these daily season reviews.  Getting to relive the games and the tailgates prior.  Certainly helps take the edge off of the "post season withdrawal"  Plus K for you!

No doubt the Warhawk faithful hopes he stays, but he is young and a great resume, so who knows long term! :-\

I've been thinking..which combo have been feared the most:

Garcon only to have been replaced by Shorts

or

Beaver only to have been replaced by Coppage

Legends filling the shoes of Legends.

I'm going out on a limb and assuming UMU doesn't have a third consecuative NFL caliber WR waiting in the wing.  ::)   ;).

Mr. Ypsi

Opponents of NCC had a similar experience.

We breathed a sigh of relief when linebacker Lenny Radke graduated, only to see him succeeded by even greater linebacker Matt Wenger.  We nervously await seeing who replaces the now-graduated Wenger. :P

^ I have no idea who Lenny Radke is. I'm probably not alone. Who is he?

You'd be hard pressed to find a better group of linebackers in this part of the country than UWW's had over the past several seasons - Widuch, Raebel, Rindahl, Supianoski, Olson -- the beat goes on. They didn't have the eye-popping stat lines, but where it mattered most - on the field - they brought havoc to their opponents. And their teams won, which is the bottom line. There's only 1 school known as "Linebacker U," but these guys have put the 'D' in defense and made UWW very successful.

EDIT: I found Lenny Radke on the NCC website - a two time D3football.com second team linebacker. I guess I answered my own question!!  ;)

Radtke was an LB who played at NCC and was POY in the conference. All the NCC faithful want him to be on the altar w Wenger. If you have the stomach you scroll the recent pages of the CCIW board for more info than you need.

Where's Harbaugh going? I say he stays at Stanford.

From footballscoop.com:

"University of Wisconsin-River Falls: We have just confirmed that Sewanee offensive line coach Jake Wissing has accepted the offensive coordinator job at Wisconsin-River Falls."

While I'd love to see him come home to Michigan, I suspect he's going to the 'niners.

Or the Dolphins. It's kind of ridiculous that this guy might actually double Nick Saban's enormous salary.
