Didn't mean to imply anything negative towards Coach L, just an observation on the past recipients of the award.

I didn' take it that way.  You're probably correct.  Certainly winning the national championship gives you a leg up.

Yeah, I was looking at that and wondering where Derek Stanley was??? I mean, he was one of the few D3 players that were drafted into the NFL this decade.
2007, 2009, 2010, 2011 NCAA Division 3 Champions.
2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 WIAC Champions.

Congrats to all the all decade selections......especially #62 from Whitewater who I am certainly proud of.....his greatest contribution to Whitewater might not be realized until next year when the current #33 plays his last game.....can't believe there is no Stanley on any of the teams.......

Re: the all-decade awards.  I haven't posted this even on the CCIW board, but several posters here were raving about him: how does Matt Wenger not make even fourth team linebacker??!! :o  Can there possibly have been 12 LBs better than him?!

Pat Coleman

Wenger can also be considered for the next All-Decade team.

Stanley -- definitely a great receiver. We just have a bunch of great receivers in the past decade, including two other guys on the list drafted, one who may well be, and Jerheme Urban, who has had a decent NFL career.

One of the ways that I protect my credibility around here!   ;)   ;D  Thanks, so much D.O.C.  An incredible honor and great way to celebrate his amazing career.  It has been quite the week for my son.  We found out on Tuesday that his recent check up showed that his lungs are completely healed from the chemo, (some damage can be permanent,) and he remains CANCER FREE!
A BIG congrats to Max, Justin, Jeff and Ryan as well and all those players on the All-Decade team.  A special award that celebrates the body of work of a player.

And congrats to Coach L for his much deserved recognition!!!

My brother from Minnesota sent me this and I thought you boys would get a good laugh.  I had to change the MN references to Illinois though!   ;)

An Illinois family of pro football supporters head out one Saturday to do their Christmas shopping. While in the sports store, the son picks up a Green Bay Packers #12 jersey and says to his older sister, "I've decided to become a Packer fan and I would like this for Christmas." His big sister is outraged by this and promptly whacks him on the head and says, "Go talk with  mom."

Off goes the little lad with the Green Bay Packer jersey in hand and finds his mother. "Mom?"

    "Yes, son?"

"I've decided I'm going to be a Packer fan, and I would like this Aaron Rodger's jersey for Christmas." The mother is outraged, promptly whacks him on the head and says, "Go see your father."

Off he goes with the Green Bay Packer #12 jersey in hand and finds his father. "Dad?"

    "Yes, son?"

"I've decided I'm going to be a Packer fan, and I would like this Rodger's jersey for Christmas". The father is so outraged he, too, whacks his son on the head and says, "No son of mine is ever going to be seen in that!"

About half hour later they're all back in the car heading towards home. The father turns to the son and says, "Son, I hope you've learned something today."

The son says, "Yes, Dad, I have."
    "Good, son. What is it?"

The son replies, "I've only been a Packers fan for an hour and I already hate you Illinois bastards."

Congrats to Justin. Ryan and Jeff for making the First team of the all decade team. Still trying to figure out how Stanley did not make any of the teams.
