A.J. - 413 never bragged on ya' that much. Somebody should have alerted us.
Congratulations.
One of the ways that I protect my credibility around here!   ;)   ;D  Thanks, so much D.O.C.  An incredible honor and great way to celebrate his amazing career.  It has been quite the week for my son.  We found out on Tuesday that his recent check up showed that his lungs are completely healed from the chemo, (some damage can be permanent,) and he remains CANCER FREE!
A BIG congrats to Max, Justin, Jeff and Ryan as well and all those players on the All-Decade team.  A special award that celebrates the body of work of a player.

And congrats to Coach L for his much deserved recognition!!!

Awesome news about A.J.!

And congrats to all of the All-Decade Team.  Regarding Wenger, I can't really comment about him not making this particular All-Decade Team because I am not familiar with many of the players who made it.  But I'm guessing that the folks who put it together would agree that Matt would fit in nicely with the group selected.

Mom413,

You are anything but a stage mother.
That's great news about AJ's health! And congrats on his selection to the All-Decade Team, along with the other Whitewater players.

I'm keeping you in my thoughts, too, Sakman.

Actually, I was a stage mom once, coco, and I regret it.  After my son's first year as a red-shirt starter in 04, there was an award called, "Rookie of the Year," and it was given to a 5th year senior who had transferred to UWW to play his last year of eligibility, if I am remembering right.  The player was awesome and had a big impact on the season but considering the name of the award, many in the audience, (not just us,) were confused. I sent a letter to the HC suggesting, not that my son was slighted so much as pointing out that the name was deceiving, implying that it should go to a player who just started their first year of football, not played their last. It was explained to me that they had extended the concept to those who were first year starters for UWW regardless of years played, which of course, was their right to do.  Anyway, NOT my finest hour, especially in light of the future awards he was yet to receive and how very deserving the young man was who had won it, and I would make a different choice in hindsight, certainly. The next year, the name of the award was changed to, "Newcomer of the Year," which was a better way to clarify it and those who qualified for it, I think.

BTW, a huge congrats to Marcus Ball, Tony Beckham and Ben Knepper and the UW-Stout program for landing 3 players on the All-Decade Team!

During this sad time for the Gorman and Mount Union family, it is very comforting that so many the the Warhawk faithful and others have been so kind with their words. Beyond the athletics, people and their kindness really matter! Thanks so much.

413,

While I will support the PACK, I always liked "Da Bears, Ditka". I am not either a Steeler or Jets fan, and was surprized like many that the Patriots did not show up!

You know I am always on your side! ;D ;D

Say it ain't so footballscoop.com:

"Gardner-Webb: We hear Wisconsin-Whitewater head coach Lance Leipold will interview for the head coaching job."

from Wikipedia'

"In football, the Runnin' Bulldogs compete in the football championship subdivision (FCS). The 2008-2009 academic year will see the Runnin' Bulldogs transition to the Big South Conference for all sports. The football team joined the Big South as an associate member in 2002. Since joining the Big South, the football team has had a record of 38-28. The first two years that they joined the Big South Gardner Webb won two conference titles in a row. Since then they have placed third every year. The Gardner Webb football team has played some difficult opponents including Georgia Tech, Appalachian State, Mississippi State, Wofford, and Ohio."

The three bears had been having some trouble recently and ended up in family court. Momma and Poppa bear were splitting up, and baby bear had to decide who he was going to live with.

So, the judge wanted to talk to baby bear to see what he thought about living with either of his parents.

When he asked baby bear about living with his father, baby bear said "No, I can't live with Poppa bear, he beats me terribly."

"Okay," said the judge, "Then you want to live with your mother, right?"
"No way!" replied baby bear, "She beats me worse than Poppa bear does."

The judge was a bit confused by this, and didn't quite know what to do. "Well, you have to live with someone, so are there any relatives you would like to stay with?"

"Yes," answered baby bear, "my aunt Bertha bear who lives in Chicago."
You're sure she will treat you well and won't beat you?" asked the judge.
"Oh certainly," said baby bear, "The Chicago Bears don't beat anybody."
