Regardless of what happens sunday, this was a successsful season for the bears and Lovie Smith.

Good, then you won't feel so bad when we kick the crap out of you.  :D

If Rex Ryan was the head coach for the Bears he would be playing the NO RESPECT card as the bears are three point underdogs, as well as the #1 see and playing at home. Yet not favored to win.
The Packers and Bears rivalry is not what it use to be when the teams totally disliked each other in the past. The coaches can't even say they hate the other team with a straight face.

The bear aren't the #1 seed, Atlanta was the #1 seed.  The bear are playing at home but they are the #2 seed.  The odds I heard quoted yesterday have them three point favorites.  ???
I think the younger Packers fans tend to dislike Minnesota more than Chicago but a lot of the older fans still see the bears as the team to dislike.

Packers have the 3 point edge....is that what you meant?

You can try but you haven't, "kicked the crap," out us yet this season.   ;D
02 is right.  Odd makers have the Pack by 3 dispite being the visitors.  The, "disrespected, chip on the shoulder," card belongs to the BEARS, BW.  Just the way we like it!  Nice try though!   ;) :D ;D

No, the odds I heard quoted on the radio yesterday favored the bear.  However when I checked the paper just now I see the PACKERS are favored by 3 1/2 so I probably misunderstood what I heard yesterday.  As Emily Latilla would say, "nevermind."

The odds are set to even the betting on both teams.  They don't mean that one team is favored over the other.  What they do mean is that the oddsmakers have to give the bettor a certain number of points so the bets on each team will be roughly equal.  By spreading the money on both teams the house protects itself from catastrophic loss.

I think it does....Vegas will always give/spot the underdog points (which means the Packers are favored)...like you said, to balance the number of bets so each side is equal.

If there was no spread, then everyone will be betting on the Packers, b/c they're the better team and should win this game by three points  ;)  ;D.

Interesting off season for the WIAC boards...never seen this room so divided before. Whatever makes the time go by until 2011 college football starts, right  8-)

Pound the Rock style of football by 10 over the fancy Pack.

BW-I agree that a lot of the younger packer fans hate the vikings more then the Bears. However I still remember the fridge scoring a TD againstt he pack, as well as one of the Packers Body slamming Jim McMahon down to the turf. I also remember Don the magic man makowski throwing a td pass and the replay official saying that he was not beyond the LOS.
No matter what the best Defense ever was the 1985 Monsters of the Midway ran by Buddy Ryan. Know that deense trly KICKED SOME A**

That has Charles Martin...and Don "Majik Man" Majkowski was never over the line of scrimmage. A tremendous play was all it was. How long will bears fans cry over that one? Being a bears fan means not being able to see very well, just like a real bear. Or the Chester Marcol blocked FG, turned touchdown. Losers will always try to manufacture something that never was. I wonder, will cheeseheads out number bears fans in Soldier Field? I hear a lot of bears season ticket holders put their tickets up for bid & that they were bought by Packer fans. Real good fans they are.  :o   "GO PACK GO" echoing off that ugly stadium will sound sweet over the television!!  ;)

BOBO-I am not a packer fan, I just remember those things from when the rivalry had a little more hatred in it.  I also agree MAJOK was never across the LOS.
LETS GO PACK LETS MAKE THE BEARS HIBERNATE, and  have all their fans leave one of the ugliest stadiums in the country inhappy crying about something I am sure.

I thought it would be fun to check out the WIAC football board - after all, Whitewater is pretty close to the Halas Lombardi line.

I think most Wisconsinites realize this - Chicagoans really like your state.  Illinois - outside of Chicago - is like a southern state.  We know very little about it.  The state capital is called Springpatch.  Some people head down to Urbana Champaign for college and then head back to Chicago ASAP.  Our favorite vacation destination is Wisconsin.  We know more about Wisconsin than Illinois outside of Chicago.  You may grumble about all the FIBs in your state - particularly in the summer months.  But give some credit to your great marketing campaign - Escape to Wisconsin.

Despite all the media hoopla, if the Packers win on Sunday, the vast majority of Bear fans will cheer for them (albeit quietly) in the Super Bowl.  But that will not happen - Bears 20-17.  Bear Down, Chicago Bears!

BTW, the Bears stole the wishbone C logo and the Monsters of the Midway nickname from the University of Chicago.

Excellent analysis and very true, especially about most of us quietly cheering them on if they are the victors tomorrow although, I have my doubts the phenomenon would happen in reverse.  I have great love for a ton of cheeseheads and my adopted 2nd home state and know just how much $$$$ I have spent over the years on liquor, gas, food and lodging alone, not to mention out-of-state tuition! But the money I spend doesn't have a deed attached to it.  That is the part that makes them crazy, I think!   ;D   Which reminds me of another joke I heard from a FIB who grew up in Wiscy.
You know what is worse than a FIB?
        a "FIBWAB".................. F@#$%&* Illinios bastard with a boat!   ;)

Hey BoBo, I have a picture that you boys might get a kick out of but the site says the file is too large.  Can you tell me how to fix that?
