I know the TD's scored record is pretty safe in Kmic's pocket, he's what, 40+ TD's in the clear...how many yards to the rushing total? 2,000+?

Coppage will need a little over 2300 to catch Kmic this season. the past two seasons Coppage had exactly 2107 yards on the ground....so it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Those yards could be tougher to get with a new line, loss of top receivers and focus by the opposing defenses to stop the UWW running game. :-\

What's with this Friday night crap?  Those of us UWW fans that are HS officials are already booked in the fall on Friday nights.

Don't like it.  Not one little bit.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Oh, I missed that.  Totally agree!  College football is played on Saturdays............   >:(
Wonder why that happened.  Must be some reasoning behind it.

Sounds like a pipe dream, my Raider friend. If this were a mere ordinary team, probably so...but we're not talking about a mere ordinary team, are we?  ;)

Don't overlook this, too - L.C. will also be a year older, wiser, shiftier, stronger, hungrier, quicker......more nimble, explosive, graceful, and responsive etc...etc...etc...you get the picture!! The drive for 3 is going to be fun...and it's not even spring yet!!!

There is a good reason that we are playing a Friday night game.  The state marching band competition is held at Perkins Stadium on the third Saturday in October every year.  Each year UW-W works with the WIAC to ensure the stadium is reserved and will be available to them.  Historically the WARHAWKS have always played on the road this weekend.  In 2011 there are five Saturdays in October.  Because the schedule was adjusted due to the conference's cost cutting measures there was no way the WIAC could avoid a WARHAWKS home game on the third Saturday.  Therefore both WHITEWATER and Stout agreed to play on Friday night.  This is the only year in which we will play on a Friday night.  Plans for the evening call for fireworks.

Also note that WHITEWATER will be playing River Falls at 1:00 rather than the later 3:00 starting time.  That game is River Fall's homecoming and they didn't want to play the game later so the powers to be approved the the earlier kickoff.  This means that the WARHAWKS will be allowed to bus to River Falls on Friday and stay overnight.  It's a four hour plus drive to River Falls and the team would have had to leave at the crack of dawn otherwise.

Sorry, bw.  Not good enough.

Run those marching bands off.  They can use the soccer fired or baseball field.

Saturday football in Whitewater is too valuable a commodity to compromise.

There, all better.  Anything else I can solve for anybody?

I know that you're not totally serious but just for reference.  The marching band competition brings roughly 15,000 people to Perkins Stadium consistantly.  The economic benefit to the university, the community and the region in general is significant.  Obviously neither the baseball nor soccer facility could accomodate that large of a crowd.  It's more than just a band contest.  It's a significant event that exposes our campus and community to quite a few prospective students and their families.  I have no doubt that we have students enrolled right now who discovered us because of this event.

And...don't forget that there will be FIREWORKS.   :D

Just Bill

I haven't read the previous posts but I'm hoping you could help me...

Is there any place in south central Wisconsin during the third weekend in October where I could see a fireworks show? Just trying to plan my annual "Tour of Random Fireworks Shows Not Related to the Fourth of July". Good times.

Just Bill- well done.  :D

BW- I have no doubt you're right about the excellent exposure UWW gets. The marching band competition has been going a long time, heck I worked it in 1987.

Better question is why are billionaires and corporations getting 140 million in tax cuts and the working class in WI being striped of their bargaining rights.  Every union agreed to  every cut in the bill so it ain't about the money, CLEARLY!  Score one for the Koch Brothers.............. ??? ::) :P
             Sorry, wrong board....................
You're right 02, this is not the board for drive by shots fired at just one occupation of the many effected.  This is a complicated issue with huge implications for everyone who lives in WI.   Let's keep it about football.....................
