Wonderful news, 413!  Ideally, cancer and 20-something should never have to occur in the same sentence. :o

Alas, in this real world, 3-year-olds and cancer sometimes coincide.  May he make it to at least the next return of Halley's Comet (oh, look it up, you guys!). ;)

It really illustrates how versatile a runner he was.  First he shows a burst of speed as he slices through the line and then blows between and past the two defensive backs.  Then he shows power as he knocks 6 backwards.  I could watch that run a million times.  In fact I may have already.  ;)

Plus, you didn't mention the patience he showed just as he got the ball on the hand-off, waiting for the hole to develop...then showing that burst of speed.  I still can't believe the push the o-line got on that play - everybody on the Mount defensive front was moved 3-4 yards backward almost in unison, before Beaver picked his hole!!
I'm with BW.  Could watch it a million times, but then, I could watch the entire game a million times.  ;) "The push the 0-line got that play," and most of the game was the #1 key to our finally winning our first National Championship, IMHO.  The d-line collapsing on the goal-line-stand would be another great example.  After 2 previous shots at the Raiders, we finally won the line of scrimmage.

On a side note, with the 1st anniversary approaching of my son being told he was finally cancer free, tests confirmed last week that we have made it through the first year and he is STILL CANCER FREE!  They'll now move the tests out to every 4 months while we work on the 2nd year!  Nothing to interfere with his wedding this summer now!  Nurses want him to bring pictures from it next time he comes in!    :) :)

That's definitely no side note!  I know everyone is thrilled to hear it!!  Keep the good news coming!

For those of us who pray for AJ. Please add UW-W freshman volleyball player Lisa Panici to your list.  And if you are around Whitewater, stop in for the benefit game against Elmhurst College at the Kris Russell Volleyball Arena, April 15th at 7:30PM.  Show your support for Lisa as she fights this battle. Warhawks don't fight alone!

I am so very sorry to hear this news.  Thank you for the info, BP and please feel free to pass along my contact info to her mother if you find the opportunity to do so.  If you haven't lived it, you can't fully understand how it feels to have the life of one of your children threatened.  Thoughts and prayers go out to Lisa and her family. Stay positive and keep fighting!!

There are reports that former UW-Whitewater athletic director Shawn Eichorst is a candidate for the university of Miami Fl Athletic Director job.

Next step: UWW gets a big payday by playing an early season non-conference game against the U at the Orange Bowl.

Or maybe not.

Bring 'em on!  Seriously, best of luck to Shawn.

Maybe not is right...the Orange Bowl doesn't exist anymore. It was demolished in May of 2008. The new Miami Ballpark or Marlins Stadium, the Florida Marlins baseball only retractable dome stadium is under construction on the same location and scheduled to open in 2012. When the Marlins move from Sun Life Stadium into the new stadium, they will change their name from Florida Marlins to Miami Marlins!! The football 'canes have played their home games at Sun Life Stadium since 2008.   ;)
