Well, now we have the real rankings.

1 month to go!
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Not only are these rankings mathmatically significant- they are presented by a host that the D3 staff will have difficulty competing with.

This is really cool, that an alum would want to do this for their alma matter, but this one sentence in the story strikes me as strange.

"Additionally, the spots will air locally in La Crosse and potentially in Madison and Milwaukee in the fall during the high school state playoffs."

I am 99% sure you can't advertise your athletic department on commerical television. You can advertise for the college as a whole and you can advertise for your camps, but D-III schools can't purchase an advertisement for the athetic department. They can run them on their own website for sure. That's why you see camp ads in the WIAA tournament programs and on the broadcasts, but not athletic department recruiting ads.

Maybe the rules have changed, or I'm just plain wrong, but I was pretty sure you couldn't do that. Maybe someone can elighten me.

The first and still most accurate description of the D3 Championship BeltTM thread.

Wow those commercials are pretty cool.  That's an awesome way to give back to your alma mater.

I'm gonna guess that whoever wrote the article isn't quite sure of the rules regarding advertisements.

Didn't realize they renamed the stadium, too. . .thought it was still Veterans Memorial Stadium.  :-\

Oh, BTW, it's good to be back on board.

First things first, glad to have you back, BoBo!

Now to the commercials, really, really awesome. The production quality is off the hook!  Don't really care for the rip off of, " We are LaCrosse," though from, I assume, the famed Marshall University motto whose football program suffered the horrendous plane crash in 1970.  That seems a bit bold for my taste but, hey, they are trying to bring the program back from the ashes.   ;) ;D Sorry, couldn't resist. Maybe that saying has another origin but that is the only one I am familiar with.  New AD, new coach, new stadium and now the power of, "Hollywood." The Warhawks and the rest of the WIAC be warned.  Looks like the Eagles comeback is in full swing.  I expected no less!

Thanks for the link Blaze- the kid looks like a real playmaker- and he seems to have the passion as well.
Any info on the Colorado kid?
The Voice reported on the receiver corp the other day and mentioned Robinson is returning after taking last year off- that's very interesting and I'd love to hear the story behind it.

Voice reported on the Running Backs this year but it appears Pirtle is gone, what happened to him? He seemed really promising to back up Coppage this year and then start next year.

Where is this report by Voice? Very dissapointing to see Pirtle gone from college football, if that is in fact true. He was a top notch student and a member of the Milwaukee University Upward Bound Program while in HS. I would assume academics weren't the issue...

I believe he took his talents elsewhere.

Thanks fbf413.  Great to be home & great to be back!!  Two weeks, 2 weddings - too many long flights!!  Even made it to Whitewater for a couple days.  Ironically, Lacrosse Camp was taking place on the athletic fields around the campus. Good turn-out it looked like.  8-)

The "We Are ___________!!" chant has been used for many decades at Marquette for basketball, too - going back to the Al McGuire days and maybe before. It's a pretty generic chant used at many places - I'm not sure what school should be credited with creating it.  :-\

I figured you'd have the back story on the chant, BoBo, and also that it had been used elsewhere before. For anyone to adopt it though, after 1970 and it being so indelibly attached to Marshall university and their tragedy, doesn't sit well with me but, hey, it is LaCrosse, I bleed Warhawk purple so it could be said that I am just looking for something to criticize.  I did say the commercials were awesome!!!   ;) :D ;D
