Is there some kind of cold weather, monkey stomp mercy rule??  Below freezing down 50 at half........GAME OVER...that should be the rule!

John Gleich

Beaver breaks a run for 48 yards... negated by a penalty.

I wonder how soon Whitewater will start kneeling on the ball out of pity for Wesley....?

Coco,

Keep in mind that everything that can go wrong for Wesley has today.  I saw them play last week.  They are a better football team than this but are not showing it.   Don't take this one game to mean that they are an inferior football team.  Are the elite? No.  Are they a decent football team as opposed to what we see today? Yes.  Dispite this Wesley is getting outclassed today.

Wesley vs. Lewis and Clark...??  Try Wesley vs. Patton Middle School...or Wesley vs. Rowan, that might be a good battle!!   :D

MonroviaCat

True, just like St. Johns was much better than the showed and in all honesty the Cats did not play to their potential last week.  BUT, UWW is a great team that is playing great football.

religion major- as an SJU fan, I sympathize with you and Wesley, as we laid an egg against UWW too (unforced fumbles et al.).

Still, let's make sure nobody gets hurt in this one by slippery turf in the second half.

I must ask:  Why does a religion major have negative Karma?  Are you studying the wrong religion or something?  Karma Gods are sensative.... :)

If that's true (and I find that difficult to believe) where does that put WW or Wesley's opponents...absolutely brutal!

The question is now: Can Wesley avoid a final score similar to Bridgewater in the semis a few years back?

coco

Ok, religion major. I'll keep that in mind, but you have to consider that great teams cause opponents to make mistakes.

None of us played our best against Whitewater, it seems. Maybe part of that is due to Whitewater.

johnnie,

I am not a Wesley fan.  I follow Bridgewater College who lost to Wesley 46-7 last week.  We were no where near strong enough this year to compete with the best teams in the west.  Last week Wesley made very few mistakes and made us pay for the unfoced errors that we made.  This game sounds similar to the egg that BC laid at Mount Union in the semis two years ago.

Coco, agreed!  I don't know that Linfield didn't play to their potential, they just met a team that was just as good as they were.  I think all of Linfield's errors in that game were forced and they hurt themselves by not having any running game at all...could they have made a couple more plays, sure, but Whitewater wouldn't let them.

johnnie_esq

my mistake, RM.

If that is the case, UWW needs not to end up like MUC did after they pulled that on Bridgewater.

Some of the errors (turn overs) were forced.  But a few costly penalties hurt the Cats too.  I don't think the Cats are typically roughing passers and kickers and those penalties may have been the difference in th game.  Still, I was not trying to take anything away from UWW they are a superb team who, so far, is not making any big mistakes.

Looks Like we'll get an a all purble stag bow this year....just not the one we hoped for...still, maybe last week was the all purple stagg bowl...
