This has been a crazy week for me, busy as hell and a trip to Minnesota has taken one too many days so we will not be in the Perk tomorrow and I am bumming! Oh, I wish, Pat!  That would be sweet but will be on the road for 9 hours today but I do get to cap off the long drive with dinner with #33.  Maybe someday the opportunity will arise
to catch a game in Collegeville while in Minnesota.  Just happy for 3G so we can still catch the
Warhawks radio broadcast, hopefully.

1st post jitters I called the radio station and they did not know they were streaming music instead of the game. They started the stream from the begining of the broadcast if anyone is interested. Go Hawks!

Warhawks retain the Miner's Pick Axe

Lot of penalties on both sides - UWW 9-68, UWP 7-75

Coppage 30-168 2 TD - including a 41 yarder on a LC signature run

Blanchard 13-18  144 1 TD  1 INT on a tipped ball in the end zone on the Warhawks first possession 2nd and 10 at the UWP 11 yard line.

UWP 203 yds passing, 117 yds rushing  Both TD's came through the air - one on a 26 yd pass by the QB John Kelly and one on a nicely designed half-back option play just before the end of the 1st half of 35 yards by backup RB Roscoe. It pulled the Pioneers even the score at 14 at the half. Warhawks pull head by scoring the games only points in the second half.

Blugolds come up with a win 24-10 over Stout.  Fun game to listen to online....wondering about some calls as they seemed late, or at least confounding.  Could've been the announcer's perspective.  Was anyone there who could comment?  Too bad for Stout.. Tough loss.  They lost the trophy....and they lost their Homecoming game.  All that on their 100th anniversary year.  Still it was nothing like what the Johnnies endured today....now that's a rough day.

Ug... I checked the score in the first half and Point had 10 point lead or so...

They led by 14 going into the 4th and gave up 17 unanswered, including a field goal at the horn for the win (or, loss, as it were).

Refs would take their time talking over the calls, and several no one was sure exactly what team they were going to call it on.  A couple calls that people disagreed with, but overall it was OK.
EC played a bad game.  Couple dumb penalties. Lost the ball twice at the goal line on fumbles.  EC punter dropped a ball on the 20 yd line which resulted in Stout's only TD.  Think the sun was in his eyes.  EC had 421 yds offense to Stouts 250 or something like that.  EC easily should have beat them by a much larger margin, and if it weren't for that dropped punt, they would have held Stout to 3.
Next week EC/Oshkosh should be interesting.  But EC needs to play a sharper game.

The Oshkosh game next Saturday will be a big test, as Oshkosh is playing some impressive games.  Interesting that Lax came back in the 4th.  That shows heart.

Great game today! Weather was great and UWP was pretty overmatched all game. Their points came off of someone (can't remember who at this point) getting burned twice (kind of like last year) and what I consider a trick play to end the half (though that guy should have been covered). UWP is a good team though and they have a good shot at taking second place in the WIAC (along with UWO and UWEC). Was kind of annoyed when UWP basically rushed the field at half when they tied the game, but oh well.

Other news: the crowd was louder then it was at family day last year with 2,000+ less people which was good. I have also have helped convert someone from not caring about D3 football to being UWW fan!

At about 12 minutes into the third quarter, Oshkosh led RF 14-7. Then, blitzkrieg! Oshkosh scored three times, using a total of 7 plays, to put it out of reach. T. Edwards rushed for 117 yds, and Greg Klingelhutz made his first appearance this season after injury with a 63 yard punt return to the one. M. Ainsworth intercepted his second pass this season, and L. Bjorklund, among others, had 8 total tackles.

Next Saturday, RF plans to cap homecoming celebrations with a game against UW Whitewater! The homecoming planning chairperson is not answering phone calls.
