I predicted Eau Claire would do well.  ;D   With all the returning starters they were relatively loaded.

There's a lot more to a student/athlete's athletic and educational experience than winning football games.  I have little doubt that Taylor Edwards will look back on his time at River Falls as a positive experience regardless of how many games the football team won.  I've been out of high school for a long, long time and when I attend class reunions and see my old teammates we often talk about  athletic experiences we shared but the conversation never centers around how many games we won or loss.  We even watch old 8mm film of games and laugh at ourselves.  None of us were as good as we thought we were.

I'm sorry to keep the topic going 413 and this will be my last word on the subject.

No need to ever apologize to me, BW.  You are one of the UWW posters who always offers humble, fair and balanced posts.  Exhibit 1 in my, "all UWW posters are not arrogant," argument.   :)

UWP will be tough for each squad.  You can't beat this game for excitement.  Both teams played to the last second.  We can't ask for more on either side of the field.  It was a fun game to listen to, can't wait to watch it Wednesday night! I too wonder what they'll do with the last seconds.. Will the edit?  I think so...

One thing I noticed is that Neu was not spreading the ball around as much as he has done in previous games.   The TEs usually have a lot of passes thrown their way.  Will have to watch the game and try to absorb it a little more.  Maybe they were covered better.  Sure miss instant replay!

After listening to the game...seeing the calls on Wednesday night on the broadcast will be quite interesting.

Pat, regarding the Kean question, it's too bad you can't select multiple responses.  I'd favor the first three if the allegations are proven.

I think we have to add Lacrosse to the mix as well.  EC and Oshkosh still have to face them and they have a tough defense with what seems to be an improving offense.  I would love to see two WIAC teams make the playoffs this year.

Doesn't it seem like this is the strongest the conference has been, top to bottom, in a long time?

emma17

Thinking about how the WIAC can get two teams in.
I think the most obvious way is if Oshkosh wins out and finishes 9-1.
Or, if Oshkosh loses to UWW and finishes 8-2- still very compelling.
Or, if Platteville wins out, and they finish with 2 losses- to UWW and Wheaton.

What if..
Oshkosh beats UWW and all others but loses to Platteville who wins out, can the WIAC get three teams in?  Has a conference ever got three teams in?  Would the committee allow it?

Or if Eau Claire wins out.
I like this what if game   ;D

You have to believe.  "So you're saying I've got a chance" would apply to EC.  I think if EC wins out, they need Oshkosh to lose twice- and probably UWW to lose twice.   In this conference many things are possible.

WW clearly had the upper hand against RF as I think we all knew they would.  However I was very impressed with the way RF played defensively.  Yes they did give up points, and several big plays including Coppage's 37-yard TD run and Huber 46-yard TD catch.  But they also did a fairly impressive job, at least compared to what I expected, of bottling up the WW offense.

The Falcon defense stopped Coppage short of the line of scrimmage several times as well as putting some decent pressure on Blanchard including a sack or two.  The offense didn't do a whole lot, but well the defense remains under the same coaching the offense is learning a new system.

This game showed me there is definitely a light a few years out for this program as the offense improves under new coaching and recruiting.

The recent history has been that 2 loss teams don't get a Pool C bid. The only chance I see for two WIAC teams is if the conference champ is someone other than UWW. UWW would get the a Pool C bid even with two losses. But that ain't happening. No one in the WIAC is beating UWW.

EC has a loss to a bad Bethel TN that will be impossible to overcome.

Platteville can't get in. I don't see Wheaton ending with more than 2 losses and they already beat UWP - the committee usually gives an edge to the team that wins a head to head matchup.

UWO has the best chance but they need to beat UWP and UWW.

Now, I'd like to see UWO beat UWW and both teams get in. And the committee awards the #1 seed to UWW over undefeated teams.  :o That would start a huge debate.

Didn't an eastern conference (Empire8?) get 3 teams in a couple years ago?  I think maybe '07?  Have to search out the playoff brackets.

Hey, 17, you mentioned in an earlier post that you attended the NCC-Augie game on Saturday. Just wondering if you can relate some of your observations and impressions of this years NCC.  I realize that they will be in context of NCC playing an 0-4 team in Augie, (now 0-5,)  but the Vikings have lost those first 4 games by a total of only 19 point.  And that includes a 5 point loss to a strong Dubuque and an 8 point loss to a  4-2 Central team.
