Congrat to WW. Best of luck in Salem.

To the WW fans, if you can get there -- just do it. You won't regret it. Roanoke-Salem is a nice area and a great host.

If you've got kids, take advantage of the free YES clinic. It's a game-day program at the stadium complex. Kids get a little workout with d3 players from the region and there are programs for adults about recruiting and college sports. Excellent. Nice giveaways for the kids, too. (You can still tailgate a little ...)

Congratulations to Wesley on a fine season, and to the WIAC's Warhawks.

You took another step this weekend. But next week is the biggest step. The time to make your final mark on D3 football for 2005 is now next week; leave a great big footprint, gentlemen!

A correction: The kids clinic was moved to the night before 6-8:30 at a local school.

The Mount fans were leaving the stadium early when they played the Johnnies in 2003. It was amazing to us to see the early departures.

The game everyone would want to see: Wesley vs. Monmouth.

The winner can play Lakeland

on one of the other forums, someone mentioned that the spread for the stagg bowl is out already. does anyonw know what it is or where to find it?

Bluenote,

Tune in to ESPN 2 on Saturday, Dec 17, 2005 at 1:00 PM  EST, 10:00 AM Pacific Coast time, and you will see the top two D3 teams in the country play. You see with a playoff format you have 32 teams that play in a SINGLE elimination tourney that actually determines who is the best team in the country that year. Gee last year this system seemed to be OK with you. I never heard you whine about the easy route to the Stagg last year. What was that Rowan score again?

The teams that get beat along the way were not the best on that given day so they stay home till next year. That would explain why the YAWN because you have nothing else to do till next year. So if it's not Linfield it ain't noth'in is that right? You had your shot last week and you came up short. Doesn't take away from a great season but the fact remains your home because you did not git 'er done on the field where it counts. NO amount of spin doctoring changes that.  WW and the Raiders play next week in Salem.

The winner is the national champ!

Overated? We're # 5. You were rated higher than that but oh your sitting home. I have all the respect in the world for Linfield you have a great team but we will have to wait for our purple vs purple with you guys.

I am going to go out on a limb here but "if" Mount wins (which I know we don't have a chance) is there some scenario that we still will not be champs because we didn't play you to get said championship? The way it sounds Mount still won't be champs so I guess this whole playoff thing is a waste of time.

Nice job Warhawks.  Those east coast teams can't hang with the midwest.  The Finer football fantasy is almost complete.  Big Jim better be heading to Salem.  Beaver will abuse the raiders.  LET THE ZONE ROLL!!!!

Not to be a killjoy, but as great a season as WW has had, now your going to "the dance". Mount Union has been here, I think before and has kicked ass and taken names, other than the two times they played SJU, so as great as your team and the west region is/was, don't be supprised is MU shows up to play, and hands your ass to you on national tv. That ought to get my karma up ;D

sju92,

i dont get what all this talk about having "been there" is about. i mean sure experience helps, but WW isnt doing too bad for a team that really hasnt "been there". they're pretty new to the playoffs and have done pretty well for themselves so far. since you mentioned the topic of us having our asses handed to us, i feel i should remind you of when SJU came to WW. the bottom line is WW has won at home, won on the road, and i will be surprised if either team gets their asses handed to em because i expect it to be a very good football game from both teams.

Raiderguy,

I think people are still a little bitter over that loss in McMinnville a couple of weeks ago.  It's hard, I mean, to say goodbye to a team as special as Linfield was this year, it takes awhile.

I was part of the Miracle in the Mud in 2000, talk about bitter.  That was a really good team we had and we felt we had won the game.  I'll never forget the ref's running off the field as fast as they could.  We had some of our defensive player's going after the ref's because one of them blew the whistle when the scrum was going on, some of our guy's stopped because they had heard the play whistled dead.  That experience hurt. :'(

I was bitter about that for awhile and even talked on they're board about how we won that game.  After awhile I gave them respect and the credit they deserved.

My point, I don't really know what my point is, except that I agree with Bluenote.
If Whitewater beats you guy's, we will know that we were the second best team in the nation in 05 ;D

Congratulations! UW-WW...I won't be surprised to see you take it to MUC.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

As much as some of you want to think that this coming Saturday will be a cake walk for the Warhawks. Ponder these stats for a bit. Yes I know that the OAC isn't the power house that the WIAC is, but the stats stand for themselves.

QB:
PASSING         GP   Effic Att-Cmp-Int   Pct  Yds  TD Lng Avg/G
---------------------------------------------------------------
Mike Jorris       14  175.73 350-233-10   66.6 3490  33  92 249.3

WR:
RECEIVING       GP  No.  Yds   Avg  TD Long Avg/G
-------------------------------------------------
Scott Casto     14   77 1214  15.8  11   64  86.7
Pierre Garcon    11   61 1089  17.9  14   92  99.0

RB:
RUSHING         GP  Att Gain Loss  Net   Avg  TD Long Avg/G
-----------------------------------------------------------
Aaron Robinson  11  178 1070   24 1046   5.9  10   43  95.1
Nate Kmic         10  174 1068   34 1034   5.9  15   42 103.4

Last time I checked (Games through 12/3 on the NCAA Site), the MUC D was #2 in total D in the nation (behind Trinity CN who only plays 8 games), #14 in rushing D, #7 in passing D, and #2 in scoring D (Behind Trinity CN again).

One main concern is the health of Watson and Fehl (MUC CBs). Here is hoping they can get well quickly.

What you going to do when Hulkamania runs wild?!?!?!?!?

Looking forward to the game and I hope that the Purple Raiders can at least show up since you already won the Championship two weeks ago.

Hello, I did the color with Pat Coleman/Cummings for D3football's UWW/St.John's and UWW/Wesley games.  You guys have one *ell of a team, and your personnel are such a joy to be around.  I have been the voice of Elmhurst for the past 6 years.  What a treat to come to Perkins Stadium, one great environment for football.
Not to take anything away from UWW (who was clearly a stronger team), but anything that could have gone wrong for Wesley DID!  Fumbled kickoff-safety, interception-TD, fumbles, a kickoff goes off a leg recovered by UWW, etc.
I also thought Wesley was "turned off" by the weather.  I'm from suburban Chicago and like Whitewater, if it's past August, anything can happen weather wise.
Good luck next week at the Stagg, bring home the Walnut & Bronze to a Midwest School.
Last thing-- How come some of your fans left Perkins Stadium halfway through the 4th quarter, as if there was nothing to celebrate??? ???

Pat Coleman,
Perhaps I missed something, but face guarding is OK in NCAA football.  Thought I heard discussion on the broadcast that ther should have been a flag thrown for face guarding.
