Rock solid defense by the Devils tonight. Both squads had to start the offense deep in their own territory several times. Both teams would move the ball but then stall out.

Stout had a couple big turnovers in the game but over came them. Then LAX gave up the big pick and the Devils turned that into points. Our punter had an excellent game putting the Eagles in a tough field position many times. Overall a total team win.

Getting a shutout on LAX is quite an accomplishment for this team finding it's real game.

The horse is already dead, but when Olla is the QB on Saturday, I'll be able to tell you and Pat - "I told you so!!"

Boy, was I wrong.  Wara toughed it out to give his team a chance to win until the final play. Just trying to create some conversation where there wasn't any.  :-[

Hmmmm........sounds a lot like what 17 does!   ;)

Seems like Cerroni was just playing the shell game with those QB's in the press.  I loved how the announcers and crowd went nuts when, "Wara took the field!". He is an outstanding QB and clearly, they are a better team with him on the field.   A BIG Congrats to the Titans.  Gave us all we could handle and then some!  We were lucky to come away with a win.  Interesting common opponent stat now.
Titans vs Mt Union.   41-17.    Against the Warhawks......20-17.     :o
If they win out and I see no reason why they won't, they will be the most deserving pool C 8-2 team in the country!   Hope the Warhawks aren't too banged up.
Congrats again to the Titans, staff and fans.

Let me preface this post by saying I am in a very cranky mood this morning after suffering a concussion after getting run over by an official on the sideline yesterday :-[

For all Warhawk football fans that watch or listen to games high on your purple pedestal - one thing - try giving UWW's opponent at least "a little" credit.  Oshkosh is a very good team - a team that may very well be better than the UWSP team that handed UWW its last conference loss back in 2008.

Saturday's game had a "playoff feel" to it.  Both teams responded.

In the end, it was the UWW defense that that held the Titans scoreless in the second half and rebuked UWO twice in a row in the fourth quarter when the Titans appeared on the way to taking the lead.

The Hawks drive setting up Kindler's game-winning field goal was "one for the ages." 10 plays, all runs by Blanchard and Coppage. the 47 yard bust by Levell was "want Levell does" - find a way to come up with a big play at crunch time!

The first words from an emotional Coach Leipold following the game to his team were: "I don't think I've ever been prouder of a team than I am of you."

Nuff said

Just to expand on me getting run over by an official yesterday on the Titan Stadium sidelines...

I'm taking photos on the sideline as the Hawks are on the game winning drive.  On Levell's 47 yard run I'm snapping a series of photos when - BOOM - I am run over by a WIAC official.  I go flying backwards and hit the back of my head pretty hard on the not-so-soft turf.  My camera goes flying and has just possibly given me my last Warhawk football photo.

Anyway - the night ends up for me watching the Badger-Michigan State game at the Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital emergency room.

Ouch!!!!

Levell Coppage set a new NCAA Division III record in Saturday's 20-17 victory at UW Oshkosh.  The senior tailback rushed for 131 yards in the UWW victory. It marked the 37th time that Coppage topped the 100 yard mark on the ground.  With the 131 yard effort Levell eclipsed the all-time mark of 36 games set by Mount Union's Nate Kmic (2005-08)

If they win out and I see no reason why they won't, they will be the most deserving pool C 8-2 team in the country!

UWO would be 8-1 in-region. So, what other West region teams would be ranked higher than UWO for Pool C? Possibly Redlands, who have a win over #6 North Central but they haven't been overly impressive since. Possibly Linfield if they lose their last game to Lewis and Clark and finish at 9-1. Are there others that UWO needs to worry about?

UWO's signature games are a win over unranked Central and a loss to UWW. Lewis and Clark is also unranked.

We'll have a better idea of where UWO sits when the NCAA Regional rankings come out.

If UWO isn't the top Pool C team in the West region, it might be tough. Looking at the Pool C discussion, there are a number of teams who could finish with one loss and not be their conference AQ. If the committee looks at overall records, that second loss could hurt.

WarhawkDad

As a quasi-newbie, help me understand. Is it only games in region that truly count for pool C?  UWO beat Central and lost narrowly to #1 UWW. Out of region they lost to #2 Mount Union.  They are a two loss team, albeit, just one loss in region.  Someone sort it out?

And Voice, I hope your feeling better, it was good talking to you before the game.  And thanks for the "pedestal" comment, it was what I was trying to say after last week's game. You said it much better.

WOW!  Now that UWW BARELY beats UWO on a last minute field goal, and Mount handled them rather undramatically, I guess UWW can just send that Walnut & Bronze to Ohio.....right?   ;D

Congrats to UWW...those kinds of games make you better & tougher come play-off time.
