That's alright, people get us confused all the time, especially since we do similar things on the site. And I was just in Whitewater two weeks earlier.

Congrats to coach Brez and everyone involved with the warhawk program past and present. As this is something anyone who was ever involved with the football program can be proud of, and they aren't done yet.
Despite the fact that the warhawks MONKEY STOMPED everyone this year except Lacrosse and Linfield. I do not expect that to happy not in the national title game.
Yes Mount union has been there before, but who cares about the past. Basically every game except the game against trinity was somewhat close, and of course the fact that Trinity was without their QB who was suspended from the game. I am sure it could have been somewhat of a game.
These two teams Whitewater and Mount Union have proven that they are THE BEST teams in division three football. Because if they weren't they wouldn't be in the position they are in getting ready to play the biggest games of their careers.
Finally despite what people out west in Oregon want to believe the Stagg bowl is this week Saturday, and not a week ago. Although that was a great game. They real Stagg bowl is going to be on ESPN 2 and the winner will be crowned, and I expect that to be the warhawks from whitewater because I do not believe that they can lose.
GO WARHAWKS BEAT THOSE PURPLE RAIDERS

UWW did not monkey stomp St. Xavier, River Falls or Central. A monkey stomp has an actual Post Patterns definition as a 21-point margin.

Sorry Pat,
I did not realize that there was a point requirement for a monkey stop.
Except for the Linfield and Lacrosse games though. No one came within 14 points of beating the hawks.

Time will tell whether the "real" Stagg was played last week...Everybody is right though, Mount is not going to lay down.  If WW rolls we'll know the answer...Looking forward to a good game!

A few thoughts....

Congrats to Wesley on their fine season.  I'm sure they had to have played better to have reached the semis.

The weather was an issue.  Wesley players asked ours "How do you play in this?" during the game.  They became preoccupied with it and it got in the heads.  Our players treated it like it was  backyard winter football and what red-blooded Wisconsin kid hasn't played football in a foot of snow.  It was clear that the weather hampered Wesley.

To his credit the Wesley coach said the shoes weren't an issue but, no disrepect intended, he was wrong.  The shoes were an issue.  Our players tried out cleats in warm ups and changed to turf shoes.  Their players only brought one pair of shoes.  In parts of the field they couldn't even run in a straight line without slipping.   One
WW  player commented that he knew we would have a big day as soon as he saw the shoes.  Our players clearly had better traction though it was still slippery.

I don't know how this Mount Union team compares to the two of the past but there is no comparison between this WHITEWATER team and the two previous.  This WHITEWATER team is a whole lot better on both sides of the ball.

No one on WHITEWATER'S team thinks they won the national championship last week.  Maybe their opponents think they did but they do not.  No one is taking Mount Union lightly and no one sees this game as anything less than the game that decides the national championship.  They carry a huge reputation and have a very good team.  We know that.

I think attendance was around 5500.   The Wesley group was very small unless they chose to sit on our side and weren't noticeable.  I did notice fans from LaCrosse and Oshkosh in attendance, probably other WIAC schools too.

It times like these that it's nice to be self employed. Immediately after the game the boss told me taking Thursday and Friday off to travel to Salem was no problem.  No problem at all.    ;D

As much as some of you want to think that this coming Saturday will be a cake walk for the Warhawks. Ponder these stats for a bit. Yes I know that the OAC isn't the power house that the WIAC is, but the stats stand for themselves.

QB:
PASSING         GP   Effic Att-Cmp-Int   Pct  Yds  TD Lng Avg/G
---------------------------------------------------------------
Mike Jorris       14  175.73 350-233-10   66.6 3490  33  92 249.3

WR:
RECEIVING       GP  No.  Yds   Avg  TD Long Avg/G
-------------------------------------------------
Scott Casto     14   77 1214  15.8  11   64  86.7
Pierre Garcon    11   61 1089  17.9  14   92  99.0

RB:
RUSHING         GP  Att Gain Loss  Net   Avg  TD Long Avg/G
-----------------------------------------------------------
Aaron Robinson  11  178 1070   24 1046   5.9  10   43  95.1
Nate Kmic         10  174 1068   34 1034   5.9  15   42 103.4

Last time I checked (Games through 12/3 on the NCAA Site), the MUC D was #2 in total D in the nation (behind Trinity CN who only plays 8 games), #14 in rushing D, #7 in passing D, and #2 in scoring D (Behind Trinity CN again).

One main concern is the health of Watson and Fehl (MUC CBs). Here is hoping they can get well quickly.

What you going to do when Hulkamania runs wild?!?!?!?!?

Looking forward to the game and I hope that the Purple Raiders can at least show up since you already won the Championship two weeks ago.

Welcome to the Machine!

I don't mean to be confrontational, but stats don't mean anything when you are comparing the OAC to the WIAC.  The WIAC is in a league of it's own.  Saturday we shall see.

skunks_sidekick

The WIAC is in a league of their own?  Yaaahhhhh......ABSOLUTELY!  All you have to do is see how DOMINANT their post season record is to confirm that statement.  Whitewater is having a dream season.  They are playing well in all facets of the game.  What does that have to do with the WIAC?

I understand why you are going to be a chest-beater, so be it.  But come on man, get real.   ???

bluenote

badgerhawk...since you seem to be "pretty in" with the guys on the team, could you give us a report after this week on how they thought MUC compares to Linfield? I'd be curious to know what the inside scoop is instead of listening to blowhards from MUC who think their crap doesn't stink and are resting on their lauwrels from the past. I'll be watching the game to see how your boys and coaching staff handles the reverend MUC and all their stinking mystique. Maybe MUC is better than I thought? Maybe they ARE good, but I doubt it. I don't know yet. All I know is WW beat a heck of a team at the CatDome and handled a heck of a team in SJU the week before. Let's hope they show their true colors next week. Bring another one home for the West and send MUC back to it's fantasy world of the past.

warhawkexpress28

does anyone know of any good watering holes in Salem...  Gonna need something to do before the game..
If you wanna be good practice till you get it right, if you wanna be great practice till you cant get it wrong..

What my point about haveing been there before, ie MU, is that you set a goal at the begining of the year to reach the Stagg, and you bust you butt all season and roll teams though the playoffs and finally get there and your like "wow" we made it and then theres the let down. WW's cinderella year is great for them, but MU expects to be there every year and know's how to play with all the pressure and hype. The fact that everyone is saying that the WW-LC game was the Stagg is only going to fuel MU fire. Larry knows how to get is boy's ready. Can WW beat MU, absolutely, if they play perfect football and MU doesn't. But what if things don't start out so good, do they go into panic mode or can they work out of it. That's why we play the game.....wasn't trying to dis on WW, just pointing out some obvious things. ::)

bluenote

...the obvious thing is that WW has proved they are good with wins over Linfield and SJU and the rest of the WIAC. Mount hasn't proved anything yet this year other than loosing to Ohio Northern.
