DOH!!  My bad and apologies to Voice.  You'd think by now I'd know better than to challenge him but, hey, it took the guy two days to find his wallet so I figured he was slipping.  ;D

I guess my D3football.com game wrap has at least one factual error.

I for one am not as confident about this years team heading into the playoffs. They don't seem to have "it" like previous years teams did. It's been sometime since I saw both sides of the ball clicking on all cylinders.

I think they'll beeze through the first round. Then the second round, I'm guessing, will play out like yesterday's game with a two-score win. Then after that, I think UWW will really struggle against a NCC or Linfield/UST...depending on what region they end up in.

Will someone try to get talk me down from the ledge??  :D

I'll give it a try.

In 2003, St John's had a couple games (Bethel and St Thomas) that could have gone the other way. They managed to eke out the wins, and went undefeated. They "found a way to win." It appears that UWW has always been able to find that way to win. I have only seen one game this year, and, as everyone has said, the score was closer than the game indicated. Even me, pest that I can be, never felt that the Warhawks were in danger of losing. They have ALWAYS been in control, even when things didn't seem to be falling their way. The UWL game, and, probably the Oshkosh game, have let them know that the road isn't easy, yet given them the confidence that they can overcome obstacles.

How'd I do?

As far as my "poll" if the projection holds, Linfield and St Thomas appear to be the hurdles. I would assume that if it goes that way, the game would be at UWW. Looking forward to that happening

Could be correct! But I believe the WIAC is much improved and that other teams don't play the quality week in and week out. I believe that competition and finding a way to win will serve the Warhawks well.  Lastly for most of the starters this is when the real season starts.  I know one game at a time, win the Conference first, but even with good coaching that is not always easy to do.

I think focus, coaching, preparation and execution will improve each week of the playoffs.

You did great!  If I didn't know better, I would think you are becoming a Warhawk fan with all this, "glass half full," kinda stuff!   ;) :-*

CONGRAT TO MY WARHAWKS on another undefeated WIAC season!  Our teams swim in the deep end every season and the Conference Championship is always hard earned!  Like our friend, retagent, has explained so eloquently, it will bode well in the play-offs!

And I don't think beating the Eagles will ever, ever get old for me!   ;) ;D 8-)

10 years ago my family first became aware of UWW and since then my weekends have been built around Warhawk football.....either attending a game or listening at the computer. Who would have guessed 10 years ago that one day they would have 40 victories in a row and playing for their 4th national championship.....simply amazing. I offer this post as a thank you to all who have participated in this surge of winning and made my weekends so much fun....tailgating around the U.S.A. for 5 years following the Warhawks was awesome and unforgettable. As you approach the playoffs for the 7th year in a row I offer my congrats and my thank you for an unbelievable accomplishment.....Pound the Rock!....
Really well said, Sak. My thoughts exactly.  You and I, our families and most importantly, our sons have been blessed.   8-)

I have , grudgingly, built up a respect for UWW over the past few years. They have definately deserved it. I wil now revert to my regular self.

Interesting bracket for the Warhawks...all new teams, except for Franklin.

So did Whitewater just go to the East??? I'm looking at the bracket, but I'm not believing it...

That's what it looks like to me 02.  Although, St.Thomas has a lot of the east in their bracket, too.  Also, looks like a lot more potential flights in the early rounds than usual.

1st Rd match-ups in UWW bracket

Albion at UWW
Thomas More at Franklin

Chris Newport at Kean
Western New England at Salisbury

Who was the team that bailed on playing Whitewater in a NC game?  Adrian or Albion?  I thought it was Adrian but it sure would be poetic if it was Albion....

It was Adrian.

They blew up the concept of geography - to a large extent, it almost seems.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

cubs

I actually don't mind it....  It's nice to have some "new" teams to play against that may not realize what WIAC football is before it's too late.
