Did I hear right that ESPN is going to broadcast the semi-finals next saturday? The UWW TV announcers indicated at the end of their broadcast today that this would be their last of the year. They would not be broadcasting next week, but ESPN would be in and the game time hadn't been set. Anybody hear about this?

If this is true, I hope that more than 1,005 will be in attendance!!  ;)

Bobo...rumors are flying.  I am guessing we will know more tomorrow.

Yes. We posted this around Selection Sunday. ESPN3. Whether it gets picked up higher, not sure yet.

Sorry, it was in October: http://www.d3football.com/notables/2011/10/bracket-announcement-moves-online

That would be great because I would probably be able to watch the game online on one of the sports-streaming websites.  I am hopeful.

First ... congrats UWW on another signature win.  If our son's gf wasn't graduating from GVSU next Saturday, I would make the drive over for what promises to be one heck of a game.

Second ... I watched part of the Minnesota-Duluth -- Wayne State D2 playoff game yesterday and noticed a wide receiver for Minnesota-Duluth ... Zach Zweifel from Monona, Wisconsin.  Is he related to Coach Zweifel, now at UD?

Well, I guess I have to admit it......although I and my family are total Warhawk people ......never missed a game, home or away, for 5 years....My son was a terrific player at Whitewater and brought Level Coppage to visit the school a couple of times when he was a high school senior recruit..... but I must admit I graduated(just barely) from St. Thomas....No problem for me.... I am 100% in support of the Warhawks but do believe this is the best team we played this year......should be a great game. An interesting fact is that running backs from both teams are from Oak Park, Illinois.....Should be at the Perk with members of the Goo Crew Saturday......Pound the Rock!!!!......

After yesterdays rebroadcast of the Raider game the announcer, Harry Paidas, signed of by saying he and Joe Tait were done for the year too. In the past we have had coverage through the semi's on a delay basis.

If we are lucky enough?????????? to get Pam Ward, please let her know the reason the Raiders are doing so well is because the defense is still playing our signature 4-3-5. :o It has been working quite well. ;)
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Yes, I believe he's Z's nephew.

Coppage's 80 yard TD run was the proverbial dagger and it couldn't have come at a better time.  It was really the only point in the game in which Salisbury had any sort of momentum.

I hear game time is 2:30 next Saturday at the Perk. Plenty of time to tailgate.

I noticed the officials moving the Salisbury players back as they crept onto the field while the WARHAWK team huddled on the Hawk's head at midfield just prior to the start of the game.  They seemed pretty animated and it appeared that some of them were saying something to our players.  I'm not sure what was going on but I thought it was interesting. It reminded me of another time that had happened a few years ago when we met Wittenberg (I think it was).

I coach HS in FL and the rule is the 10 yards from the 45 to 45 is supposed to be the "buffer zone" where neither team is allowed during warm ups.  Unfortunately, that rule is only enforced by the referees who normally don't come out as early as the teams do.

Had a soggy but great day yesterday at the Perk.  Just goes to show you that with the right equipment and right attire a great time can still be had by all.  Kudos to my fellow gladiator tailgaters!  So great to finally meet 02 and BW!  Congrats to my Warhawks on a stellar performance. Have a good week of practice and preparation as next Saturday will be big challenge when the Tommies come to town.  And the fact that ESPN might be airing the games?  Very cool.  Could it be that the NCAA and ESPN are looking to showcase and promote a true play-off system in preparation for a complete revamping of the BCS???  Nah..........but a girl can dream can't she?   :D ;D 8-)

My sons are making plans for a new family holiday tradition................   ;D

I clicked on the related story link for the Hanson Bros. beer thinking it was the Hanson Bros. of Slap Shot fame, but I was surprised it was the Hanson Bros. from teeny-bopper fame. What a surprise!!
