I thought this was the best the Warhawks played all year......Great balance between offense and defense.....Blanchard and Coppage were terrific and the defense was clearly way better than the Tommies offense.....Great to meet 02 and a few others at the tailgate.....Enjoy Salem and Pound the Rock.....Warhawk Chuck as always thanx for saving us a spot and enjoy the Italian beef.....

What happen to your fire pit when we left? We saw the cops coming up to it when we were walking away. I guess they didn't like you guys dumping the charcol out on the blacktop I imagine.  ;D

And even though I am biased, it was the best the O-Line played all year.

What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

do we know the time of the game Friday?

6 pm Friday evening. The game will be telecast on ESPN U

Congrats to UWW. Great win.

Most impressive thing for me was your defensive front 7. Constant pressure on UST every time they went back to pass. DT had no time to go through his progressions and was running for his life back there.

And Blanchard made some sick throws in the face of pressure. Clutch performance.

Good luck next week.

W-O-W, I am impressed. You guys were dominant today in all facets of the game. First time at The Perk and I enjoyed just about everything. I hope you guys appreciate what you have there. Had the outcome been different it would've been a perfect day. I came in wanting to see how the Toms measured up and I walked away realizing they have a ways to go yet. I thought your o-line might have been suspect-not today. They looked stout. QB managed a hell of a game. D-line seemed immovable, your lb's were all over the place and at times it seemed like you had 10 db's. Well played. I would've liked to have seen the Toms take some shots at the intermediate route over the middle of the field a little bit, but don't think it would have made much difference.

Good luck in the Stagg next weekend. Here's one Tommie fan that will be in your corner.

Came home with my tail between my legs, but I did manage to stop and grab 6 cases of Spotted Cow on my way home! Thanks for it and the education. Cheers!

In years past, ANY Mount team getting 6 turnovers would = a 50 point win. Are they really having that many problems offensively or are they just playing possum?

BoBo,

What do you think? Check your PM.

Is this like a message board candid camera? I have no PM!!   ;)

BoBo,

Check again!

Thanks, my friend...!! +k

The UWW team that I thought was vulnerable did not play today. I agree with Sakman. This may have been the best all around game I've seen UWW play. Total control, very few mistakes, few penalties, and excellent execution, and some luck. If they play the same way next week, it could be a 35 - 7 score.

One thing I wondered about was the play calling of UST. The plays I saw work, at least to some extent against UWW this year, were the short 8 - 12 yard passes over the middle. With Tracy's ability to roll out, those types of passes along with a rollout, dragging a tight end, WR, or even a back out paralleling him, were what I expected to see. Those passes in the flat were doomed, and his accuracy on longer passes was suspect, at best. Also, their pass coverage in the first half was horrendous. I just got out of the hospital, and I could have stayed closer to the receivers than their DBs did. They tightened up some in the 2nd half, but it was too late.

And if I hear any reference to comparative scores, I'll take my bat and go home. >:(

I met and talked to one of your SJU brethren today at Coyote's in Whitewater... He had a SJU sweatshirt on and I mistakenly thought he was you. :)

This will be the toughest game for either team this season. By far.
I guess the game against Oshkosh where the Ttians led or were tied for all but four minutes wasn't much of a test for the Warhawks?  ;D
Looks like the Oshkosh game was the tougher than today's game for Whitewater.... ;D

I was dead wrong...Oskosh beats this UST team.

Hmmm.. not so sure about that. UW-W played UW-O in October. December is a different stage. UW-W is a different team.

Yea maybe. But for a team that looked SO GOOD on paper and to put up a goose egg...they didn't impress me at all. Especially their QB, he wasn't very accurate.

Two things that caused his lack of accuracy.  First our secondary primarily Noah Timm took away his roomate and primary target Fritz W. and we put a ton of pressure on him. He was running for us life.

Yea he was....Timm will have a tough assignment in Collins next weekend as well. Timm has been out shut-down corner all year.

I think he'll do alright  ;)

The d-backs rose to the occasion last year about this same time.  They are playing at a very high level. McCollum was lights out in last years Stagg Bowl; maybe Timm and Wenkman will be the ones this year, Overton had a good game today, too.

bleedpurple needs to post a particular idea he had and shared during the week off of the main board. It was so dead on it was scary. It would be post of the year IMHO!!

Oh gosh. If you insist!  ;D

This one?

"St. Thomas has relied on pushing other teams around and physically dominating them to defeat them.  They have not played anyone as big, strong, or fast as they are.  I maintain playing in the WIAC will pay huge dividends for the Warhawks Saturday.  They bring nothing we haven't seen before.  They are the best team we've played, no doubt.  They are even good enough to beat us if we don't bring our best. But playing through their schedule simply hasn't prepared them for what we bring. Their defense is excellent. I don't imagine UW-W will score a huge amount of points. But there's no reason to think they will completely shut us down all afternoon.  Our adjustments, defensive rotation, and our playmakers all make it very hard to shut us down.  Offensively, I don't believe their passing game is good enough to beat us if we shut down their run. In fact, if our defense plays like we have, it may not be as close as we are led to believe."

I was really impressed with UWW's coaching. They new exactly how they wanted to counteract the UST zone blitz scheme and took advantage of them in the flat several times.

They also did a superb job bottling up Waldvogel. They had the front 7 to play straight up and bring pressure, doubled Fritz when they needed two and basically demanded another WR beat them. With their play up front there was never really time for anyone else to get open. UST's lack of WR depth hurt them, imo.
