The most interesting part of the game was the role reversal.  Mount playing the part of underdog and getting overly excited over every big play (the way double dubs used to do) and WW being almost too cool, calm, and collected.

The second most interesting part is the fact that nobody seems to mention that the more FIBs are on the team, the more double dubs dominates.  Coincidence?  Nah, but, definitely reinforces the fact WW used to play favorites.  Now, they play players and the results speak for themselves.

Congrats Whitewater players, support people, coaches and fans.  Another well earned championship.

Finally, nothing to worry about here.   ;D

till next year anyway

It was a great game.  Two defenses imposing their collective wills.  Those of us in Cooper's barn never left the edges of our seats.  Some of us couldn't even sit still for the final defensive stand.

Congrats to the WARHAWKS.  We are the champions!

just got home from the game.  Congrats to UWW on the win.  Some key pieces to replace to remain at the top next year.  Should make for an interesting season.

Was just thinking of the irony of your Coach Z not getting that job, LL's amazing success, and Z's son being the best d3 player this year.  Would be interesting to know how things would have been any different in WW.  Pretty difficult to predict that things could have been any better than they are right now.

9 years or so ago I sat in the stands and watched Mount Union monkey stomp Whitewater during my sons red shirt year and then the next year they beat us pretty bad in Ohio.....after that 7 trips to the finals, 4 national championships, and 45 wins in a row. My son told me they were getting pretty good but this run is unbelievable. Great players, great coaching, and some luck has made for great success.....Continue to Pound the Rock......Congrats to all......
Sakman-The 02 game was only a 14 point difference 42-28. The 03 game was bad.

Not so fast...

'02  44-21 @ UWW
'03  40-17 @ Mount

...at that time, they were both, equally bad.  However, they served a greater purpose, unknown at that time which we may now be reaping the benefits of today!!  ;)  So, in hindsight, maybe they were both equally good.  :-\
Sorry about that. I just remember LK saying that the 02 game was one of the most physical games that they had played in a while. I also remember the next mroning coach Brez asking me what I thought, and I said we have a long way to be as good as they are. Well at least the last three years we are better then they are. As your only as good as your last game.

WOW!  Just got back from Wisconsin.  Had a wonderful and completely anxiety-ridden time watching the game at the Boar.

What a defensive war we had out there.  Our boys played lights out on that side of the ball!!!  A huge congrats to the players, coaching staff, program and the entire WARHAWK NATION!!!   The amazing run just continues rolling on and we are all very blessed!  IT'S GREAT TO BE A WARHAWK!!!! 8-)

OK, especially Warhawks fans and parents, and all who watched the game last night...

Do you like having the game on Friday night better than on Saturday afternoon?

And a little heads up - on Monday, the league SIDs, as part of the WIAC Centennial celebration, is slated to name the all-time conference football team... Not sure what all that entails, or how many slots they will fill, but that will make some interesting fodder to discuss...

For starters, as RBs I will take Levell Coppage and UWEC's Roger Vann... and UWSP's Jared Jenkins does double duty as P/WR... with Pointer Clint Kriewaldt at LB as another pick, along with UWL's Joel Williams...

Those would be five definites on my ballot...

Congrats to the Warhawks!

One benefit that I wasn't anticipating was that D-III seemed to get more highlights and better treatment on SportsCenter because of it. Saturdays are usually much busier and I'm sure D-II won't get that kind of treatment tonight.

After the lack of pre-game coverage.  it was great to see all the coverage on SportsCenter, both last night and today.

I believe the jury is still out on how people feel about the Friday night game. I am looking forward to those discussions.
