Per D3football.com Blanchard is being brought in for a tryout with the Bears.  Good luck, Matt and the rest of the WARHAWKS as well.   And good luck Michael Zweifel.

A total of 4 WIACers getting Rookie Camp tryouts...pretty cool.

Taylor Butzler, OL, UW-Stout, Packers
Kris Rosholt, P, UW-Whitewater, Packers
Casey Casper, LS, UW-Whitewater, Packers
Matt Blanchard, QB, UW-Whitewater, Bears

Here's a little blurb in today's paper about Butzler...

Has anyone seen the 2011 National Championship DVD for sale?   I must be missing it somewhere.  Also, I am looking for the 2010 game as well.  Our copy disappeared!

WarhawkDad

If you're still missing it by the time the season comes around, I can burn you a copy and give it to you when I see you at the Perking lot.
LOL, that would be nice, probably easier than asking Bobo to return it!

This is great for the WIAC guys.  I cannot even imagine how excited they must be.  I feel I read somewhere there was another WIAC guy getting a shot at linebacker (I'm too lazy to look it up).
When do they get their first taste of the big league?

Word is that UW-La Crosse S Derek Dreher got a minicamp invite today from the Baltimore Ravens.

Congratulations to Dreher and all other WIAC'ers who got invites!

Seriously, I wish it were available since I never got a chance to see it in the first place.

OK, which one of you was the "source" for the Mike Zweifel story that appeared today in the Kenosha paper? If you haven't seen the pertinent put-downs of the IIAC, go to their board for the info. If only all leagues could live up to WIAC standards :o

It is really good to see a number of Division III players to upcoming NFL rookie minicamps.

Congratulations to former UW-Whitewater Warhawks - Matt Blanchard, Casey Casper and Kris Rosholt for getting invites.

To be signed by an NFL team coming out of Division III has been a longshot at best.

Case in point... both Justin Beaver and Lane Olson put together some of the top NFL Pro Day numbers at their respective positions... but it didn't translate into a shot in an NFL training camp.

Voice Pattison published the following story on the NFL's snub of Beaver and Olson.

http://www.voiceseyeonfootball.blogspot.com/2012/05/getting-invitation-for-tryout-at-nfl.html

Division III - led by the WIAC - has a number of players that will get rookie camp tryouts next month.

Maybe Pierre Garcon's successs has raised the chances of other elite Division III players to get a better chance of cracking the NFL.

Seriously, Good Luck to all D III players in their quest. The WIAC should be proud of the number of players they have contributed to this.

Just don't lord it over we inferiors too much. ( That last sentence was not included in the "seriously" part. :))

Knowing retagent the way we do, I'd like to see a show of hands who really think the bolded sentence is retagent being serious? I don't buy it and I know I'm not alone.  ;)

Can the preseason polls come out already!!  8-)   ???

I mentioned already that former UWSP WR Jared Jenkins is playing AFL ball with the Milwaukee Mustangs. To provide an update he's currently leading the team in receptions, yards, yards per reception average, TDs and average yards per game.

Interesting...maybe I wouldn't have pulled so many hamstring, quad, and groin muscles in college had I done this. Had I done it I probably wouldn't have told anyone though!  :-[
