Bobo- you're right it wasn't bad news, it was an injection of irrelevant information to a wonderful story of UWW and Matt Blanchard.

Sorry to rain on your parade, e17, but it's neither irrelevant (I'm not a irrelevant injector - sounds like something you'd hear on Seinfeld) or wonderful story (too bad the reporter left the real story out of the story), IMO - shocking that we don't agree.  ;)

Does it concern any of the UWW/bears fans that the bears have really failed at QB development over the past couple decades? I wonder if Blanchard had any other options?

Bobo it seems as if your hatred for the Bears or your love of showing your vast knowledge is preventing you from enjoying the story of a UWW player having a shot at the NFL.  That's too bad.

I don't like the  Bear one little bit and I won't like them just because Matt is on the preseason roster.  Actually I won't like them if Matt makes the regular season roster or practice squad.  However, that being said, I think it's really cool that he's doing well and getting a shot at it.  He's a great kid and he's representing not only himself, his family but the WARHAWKS and UW-W in high style.  Good luck to him.  He's worked hard and if ever there was someone deserving of this opportunity it is him.  I sincerely hope he is successful.

Of course it bothers us, but we have our QB now. And he FINALLY has some talent around him to succeed. Only if the O-line can protect him now.

I wish Matt Blanchard the best of luck as well. But if Clay Matthews gets the chance to sack him for a 10-yard loss (cleanly without injury, of course) I'll be cheering loudly in my living room.

There's a good chance that all would be right in the world if Matt Blanchard is playing for the Bears in a meaningful game against the Packers.  :)

I wish Blanchard the best.....but as a Bear's fan, I hope Blanchard isn't expected to play in a meaningful Bear's game.

Blanchard Article.
There was a nice article today on Matt Blanchard on a subscription site (something like chiscout.com- Bear Report).  I can't link it due to subscription status, but in it Matt says:
"The pressure on rookies at this level is considerable but it's not unexpected. I welcome the challenge and plan to succeed. I understand that I am coming out of a small college and the competition wasn't anywhere as difficult as what I will face in the NFL. But I still believe that football is football. If you understand how to win, if you are willing to put in the time on the field and in the film room you can play against anybody."

Go Matt!!

This is fantastic and to have this wonderful video to promote both Matt and the Warhawk program, what a coup!   :)

I believe that video was made for the Gagliardi Trophy ceremony last December. They showed the school produced video as they introduced each finalist - or so I recall if my memory serves me correctly.  ;)

Hmm, a great video no matter when it was produced or why it was produced IMO
Could not agree more!   Wonderful video!

I'm looking forward to the UWW golf outing this Friday- any readers planning on attending?
Food, beer and football talk instead of a day in the office.

My better half and a certain handsome Ex-Warhawk LB will be playing in the outing.  I'll tell them to look for you and give you a big hug from me.   ;) ;D
