Good news for Blanchard.....in a way I guess.
That is GREAT news!  One of my favorite quotes comes to mind.  "He who endures, conquers!"
Could not be happier for Matt and the entire wonderful Blanchard family!   ;D ;D

I'm sure they're going to take it one game at a time is usual...it'll come when it comes...and if it is meant to be, it'll be.  Let's not put the cart before the horse Dad!

(I'm sure the smart guy that you are already has it figured out anyway, right Dad?)

The UW-W Athletic Facilities will be featured in "A Sporting Chance." It is scheduled to debut on ESPN2 at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 23.

Pretty cool. It ended up being a Nortwestern Mutual commercial, and they talked about how they supported the NCAA and Title IX. The commercial showed various women athletes (played by actors), while displaying numerous UWW athletic facilities in the background.

Got this from a family friend that lives up in the UP, seems like we got a yooper headed down to the land of the cheese heads!

Per the Iron Mountain Daily News:

"Norway's Brady Grayvold has left Northern Michigan University for Division 3 football juggernaut UW-Whitewater. Grayvold, along with two of his NMU teammates, will be immediately eligible to play.

The decision came after a "very good meeting" with Whitewater head coach Lance Leipold and defensive coordinator Brian Borland.

"Brady was offered the full-time punting duties at NMU but this is a better fit for him in his pursuit of playing defensive back, as well as punting, and competing for a national championship," explained his father, former Norway High School head football coach Brad Grayvold. "Their facilities are outstanding and their fan support is as well."

Brady Grayvold was a standout in this April's NMU spring game, picking off a tipped pass and doing double duty as a punter and kicker.

Whitewater, a member of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conferrence, sports some impressive feats including three consecutive national titles ..."

Chances of Davis:

1. Surviving the grind:  100%,  he absolutely will not drop out on his own accord.  He's fully committed and that isn't his nature.
2. Making the roster: 95%, without knowing how well he can block I can't quite go with 100%
3. Contributing: 90%,if he isn't able to block decently he will be a situation player.  His hands and body positioning are too good to keep him on the bench full time.

I had heard about the NMU players coming down but I didn't want to let the cat out of the bag.

If it was in the newspaper it was public information.  Generally speaking we don't talk about WARHAWK recruits until fall practice starts and they're enrolled and participating.  But if there's a public announcement that doesn't really matter.

Welcome to the board.

Something else we have in common.  Dan Fogleberg is one of my all-time favorites.  I still listen to, "Run for the Roses," and, "Old Lang Syne," ect., every chance I get.  Rest in peace, Dan.

Thanks for sharing. Does anyone recall when UWW last had a punter/kicker that was also a first or second string position player?
