Maybe you guys have noticed that I've been posting quite a bit over the past couple of weeks.
I justed noticed something... I've been stuck on 924 posts for a long time. Back to April 1st at least!!
Maybe I don't suck-up to Pat Coleman like, for instance, BadgerWarhawk, 02Warhawk and BoBo lol.
Man, if still listed as an All-Conference poster. I'm jealous! >:( >:(

Voice,

All of your posts update to the new number every time you post. For example, currently your number is 925. :)

Five WIAC players named to D3football.com's PreSeason All American Team:

QB Nate Wara Sr. UW-Oshkosh 2nd team
WR Tyler Huber Sr. UW-WHITEWATER 2nd team
DE Loussiant Minett Jr. UW-WHITEWATER 2nd team
DB Noah Timm Sr. UW-WHITEWATER 2nd team

P Christian Hallingstad Sr. UW-LaCrosse 1st team

Currently, the Reader Poll on the main page has UWW's probable 2012 starter Lee Brekke as the readers favorite to be 1st team AA QB (25%) of the players with real names (considering the light traffic on this page these days, it's not all warhawk fans doing the voting). "Someone else" is the actual leader with 37% of the vote. Wara has only 6% and a guy from Wheaton and D3football pick for pre-season AA has 13% for a distant second place of named players. There's no telling how many other QB's have a vote casted in their honor in the "Someone else" category or what other player might be the most popular choice among that group or if they even have a snowballs chance in Havana of being on that list at seasons end. My guess is most of them don't even have a chance.

I was surprised to see the kid from Wesley wasn't the leading vote getter.  Nothing against Brekke, but the Wesley kid has an entire season of starting experience (that came to an end at the hands of the Dub) and a potent corp of receivers and favorable offensive scheme.

I think it says a lot for the current seasons QB crop that 2 guys with little or no playing time from last season are on d3football's short list of AA candidates this year. They have to dip back to two years ago to find what they feel are viable signal callers.  Sounds like it might be a wide open race - and maybe a surprise or two will develop early in the season.

Leipold's interview with Eastbay

I like how they breaked down Minett's sack in the Stagg Bowl. A nice inside look of the X's and O's of that play.

The UW-Whitewater football team will get an early start on preseason football practice next month.

Players will report to camp on August 10th, practice begins August 11th, with UWW's season opener set for Friday night, August 31st in St. Louis against Washington University (8:30 p.m. kickoff - CDT). The game is part of a soccer-football doubleheader.

The U-Dub-Dub at Wash U game will kick off the D3 season nationwide with the Labor Day weekend Friday night game.

Ahh.....first tailgate of the season.   Really looking forward to going to St. Louis.  Anyone else making the drive?   Downtown St. Louis has alot to offer.  First, right next to Washington University is the St. Louis Zoo, know worldwide as one of the best, then you have the Lacledes Landing Area which is great night life, music, food, etc.   You have the Gateway Arch and also new Busch Stadium.   The Cardinals are actually playing the Brewers that same night.....talk about a conundrum for you Cheeseheads!  :D 8-) :D  They also play the Brew Crew the next night as well.

So make a weekend of it.   Who will be driving down?

Voice here... I just want to thank the many of you that have sent get well cards and email messages encouraging me on my just beginning battle against cancer.  It's amazing the incredible ups and downs one goes through emotionally on a daily basis.  I posted a story yesterday on how my youngest grandkid, Javon, taught Grandpa Tom a valuable lesson on Friday after seeing me feeling sorry for myself. To access the story click on the following link:  http://www.voiceseyeonfootball.blogspot.com/2012/07/n-photo-above-my-youngest-grandkid.html
For a kid just heading into kindergarden he's pretty damn smart!!

I have been "out of the loop" since the Golf outing, but I wanted to pass along my best wishes for a speedy recovery.  You are an excellent ambassador for Warhawk Football and have been just wonderful to get to know since #65 first arrived on campus.   The entire Warhawk nation is behind you.

I may stick to one road game (within the WIAC) this season. I try to stay as far away from Busch Stadium (and St. Louis for that matter) as I can.

Yes, I'm a bitter Cubs fan.

Mrs BW and I plan on making the trip.  Mrs BW retired this year so she'll be able to come along.  As incredible as it may sound despite being married to a sports junkie for 30 years this will be Mrs BW's first WARHAWK football game.  That's what happens when you marry and artist who doesn't really care about sports.  Now that she's retired I suspect she'll be attending a few more sporting events as well.
