There sure seems to be a lot of experts on this board that seemingly (in their mind) have a better grasp on UWW's offensive Inconsistencies than the coaching staff does  :-\

No worries, everyone is doing what fans do.  Knowing the individuals that I do on this board and the conversations we have had about the Warhawks, not one of them believe that they know more about the team or the players than the coaches.   They are just doing what fans do.  They are giving out superlatives when due.....especially for the defense (all season) and for Patterson after the Platteville game.   We are also expressing concerns about the offense, the lack of productivity and the decision making.   No-one is changing their allegiance.   I think the coaches know they have some issues to address and are doing it.   I do not believe that Behrends coming into the game was by chance.   Time will tell.

On a separate note, I was personally thrilled for you and your family at the overwhelming response for you and your fight against cancer this past Saturday.......and if I do say so myself,  "I look marvelous" in my yellow Team Tom t-shirt!    Looking forward to hopefully seeing you in Menomonie.

UW Stout appears to be similar in style (not as accomplished) as UWO, the QB is one of the leading rushers.  I like UWW's D against an offense like that.

I don't like Stout's defense against our offense though. If we thought River Falls was tough to throw on...lookout. Stout will have the best defense we've faced all year.

UWO scoring defense #2 in WIAC behind UWW
UWO rushing defense #2 in WIAC behind UWW
UWO pass defense efficiency #2 in WIAC behind UWW
UWO opponent 1st downs #2 in WIAC behind UWW
UWO opponent 3rd down conv #2 in WIAC behind UWW
UWO pass defense #1 in WIAC
UWO total defense #1 in WIAC
UWO sacks #1 in WIAC

Stout is ranked #3 overall team defense.

It's called the Tri-State Initiative.

http://www.uwplatt.edu/admission/tristate/

Iowa and Illinois residents can get a lower tuition rate at UW-Platteville, similar to the Wisconsin-Minnesota reciprocity agreement. Not as low as in-state residents, but not as high as the out-of-state rate either. It was enacted because Platteville was struggling admissions-wise and wanted to have greater reach into those neighboring states.

This wasn't an athletics initiative. It was something the Board of Regents deemed necessary to help keep UW-Platteville strong and healthy. Every school has their own advantages and disadvantages.

Platteville also still carries some name-recognition in Illinois (at least with parents) from being the long time home of the Chicago Bears training camp.

In case it was perceived that I was crying foul- that wasn't my intent.  I simply found the information to be interesting.  Now, if UWP goes on to appear in 7 straight Stag Bowls I may have to change my mind :)
As an IL parent, I wish all WI schools had reciprocity with IL as I'd love to send my kids up north.

You make a good point here WarhawkDad.  In previous posts about the QB struggles some readers may have gotten the impression that I or others felt we identified something the coaches weren't already aware of.  I certainly believe that there is nothing that has been posted that the coaches haven't been thinking about or stuggling with solutions for.  If we put ourselves in the their shoes, I think we can easily see why it's a very difficult situation.
It's not as though the QB position is the only one that has struggled.
They have made adjustments with starters on the O-line, reps at running back, tight end and a bit with receiver.
Brekke is not only the senior QB with big game experience, he is the Captain of the offense.  To make a move at QB, think about what the staff would have to be ready to face.
The other fact is one we have all seen.  The backup QB comes into a game and performs very well in that first game.  But then opposing teams get the film and now have the ability to game plan against the new QB- and oftentimes fans are left screaming for the original starter.

From the outside looking in, the offense lacks big play ability, which puts a premium on moving the chains with longer drives.  We have seen in past years the value of a QB that can pick up yards and first downs with his legs.  If Behrendt, or another QB on the roster has more ability to make that happen, it seems it's at least worth a try.  Limit the game plan to try and reduce mistakes by the new QB.  More first downs may open up opportunities down the field.
Again, I've no doubt the UWW staff is well aware of this and a whole lot more, but it's a very hard decision to actually make.

Thinking about hits like that reminds me of the one Donovan took against Linfield, when he was pinned and then crushed backwards near the goal line.

I couldn't believe he got up from that hit.  For such a thin guy he sure was tough.

Ouch!!!   Even though I saw it in person, seeing it again like that magnifies the size of the hit.   I wonder in today's enlightened "concussion sensitive" football world, if that hit would have drawn a personal foul for a blow to the head?  Not trying to start any controversy, just discussion, because something that might have been routine 3 years ago, might not be today.

No, I have a gentleman's weekend with some Whitewater friends this weekend. But we have a good-sized group for homecoming the following weekend.

I hope the place we're staying Saturday has wi-fi because I'll be bringing my computer.

Taking a look at the weekly WIAC press release. UWW is dead last in passing offense.

That's what I pointed out yesterday.  That area HAS TO improve.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

A look at the UW-W win over River Falls and a look at the results of Hawk drives so far this year that start with field position of no better than their own 35 yard line.
