Oh my God!!! These fans from Mount Union got drunk at the game.  They started to call me worthless and other things.  I got sooooo mad!!  You had to be there!!!  And then they had the nerve to say my mom was fat and that my local sports team was inferior to theirs!!  Whose ever heard of such outlandish behavior at a football game from college students??  I'm losing sleep at an incredible rate over this matter!!

Does anybody now if there is Steroid testing in d-3???

Have heard rumors..........

Pat Coleman

The NCAA has tested for drugs at its championships for many years. This is nothing new.

If you're going to come back with allegations about a specific team, be forewarned, you better have substantiation in the form of a printed article, or else it will be removed in accordance with our Terms of Service.

Pat.....
If a Player or Players  of either team in the stagg Bowl Tests positive, what happens? Would it effect the team,Player, College, etc? Thanks.
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Give it a rest, Pat. And a national media hack shouldn't tell me about St. Norbert football either, but I often read and reserve judgement.

Greg,

I think your -68 Karma and calling Pat a national media hack is as disrespectful as a person possibly get especially on Pat's own forum.  If I were P Coleman  I would through your arse out the door and be rid of you.  After all show a alittle appreciation for someone who spends all his free time (and money) supporting somehting he loves so a lot people (4  million hits this year) can have something very good.

You on the other hand don't deserve to be here in my opinion.

Pat Coleman

I'm OK with Greg posting here (as long as he continues to live within the TOS) because his karma speaks for itself. His posts are their own reward, as it were. I have a thicker skin than I used to.

They don't usually test at the Stagg Bowl because they almost always catch up with those teams earlier in the postseason. If someone tests positive they lose a year of eligibility.

And it's interesting how the "random" players almost always seem to be key contributors. :)

Just got back today so my congrats to MUC has been a little delayed!  They say that "defense wins championships," and IMHO yours sure did.  Had the Hawks off balance for alot of the game and when they got it together in the 4th quarter,  it was too late.  Losing a championship by a TD when you were literally inches from 3 TD's is a bitter pill to swallow.  The great defensive play knocking the TE out in the air before he could cross the plane and the other play hitting his arm preventing control were terriffic.  The other lost opportunites of the interception and the goal line stand had help from the hawks play calling and mental mistakes.  Anyway,  I believe that when a team plays badly, most of the credit must go to the opponent.  Your offense ain't too shabby either, LOL!!   Great QB, RB, etc... Your  O and D lines won the battle alot of the time.
Many, many thanks to olinemom, llamaguy and Kidd and all the others at Stone Station for their great hospitality and food!     It was a pleasure meeting all of you and one of the highlights of the trip.  Great venue, cities and great football!
Congrats to my Hawks on the greatest season in UWW history!!  What a year to build on!!  Work hard in the off-season.  I want to go back for some of that great food again in 2006!!!!

Pat, no kidding on the "random" testing!  I don't think there was a time last year, when they did test, where Jenkins, Elliott, Allen, Hazenberg weren't in the super secret sealed bathroom post game!  Funny how it works that way... :D

Hi everyone. Newbie to this board. Promise not to talk trash!

Just wanted to congratulate the Warhawks on a great season. I won't get into all the what-ifs of the Stagg Bowl, as footballfan413 just mentioned those I was thinking of. The only other that comes to mind was when one of the UWW D-linemen tried to arm tackle Kmic before "the run." A solid tackle would have likely stopped him at the line of scrimmage, or at least slowed him down enough before help arrived. Instead, he went for 96 yards and kind of busted the game open. But even after that you guys played hard and made it interesting. MUC was able to run the clock down and even score a TD late in the game, which was something Linfield was not able to do late with a lead because we weren't as balanced offensively. Both your squad and MUC seemed to be well balanced and very close in talent. I think it was the experience that got MUC the win this time, and shows why they have won so many titles. UWW is going to be scary good next year, I know that much.

A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Belated congratulations to the WARHAWKS on a great year. You represented the WIAC very well indeed.

Barber Greene

It will be interesting to see how the Warhawks handle the pressure next year with the target on their back instead of being Cinderella. Every team is going to bring their "A" game to try to beat them. Hopefully they build character during the year that will take them far into the playoffs again and maybe even win the championship should they get there. They definitely won't be sneaking up on anyone next year.

CaptainKurt

As I come to think of next season now, I feel like I have had a moment of enlightenment.  It dawned on me that the Warhawks might not make it back to playoffs next year.  At the very least, it is certainly not guaranteed.  The WIAC presents formidable challenges every week ; we all know this.  The "****birds" of the conference have the ability to win against the best the conference has on any given Saturday.  As Whitewater sets it's focus on next season, I'm sure that their first goal is to win the WIAC just so that they can qualify for the chance to get to the Stagg Bowl.  Any WIAC who doesn't think in this order of operation is making a fatal mistake, speaking in football terms of course.

Here's where my point comes in.  Teams in the WIAC have to make it their first priority to win the WIAC.  Any team who says "We must win the Stagg Bowl" at the beginning of the season will most likely look past the likes of Platteville and/or River Falls and find themselves losing to either one of these teams.  Second place and third place in the WIAC would usually finish first in 50% of the conferences that have Pool A bids.  But with 2 or 3 losses due to ridiculously challenging non-conference schedules and the most challenging conference schedule in the nation, there is no love from the selection committee for 2nd place with that many losses; 3rd place can't even think about getting a bid.  Once a WIAC teams wins it's conference, it's my theory that those teams feel extremely accomplished, and almost relieved in a sense, and then have an even larger obstacle to tackle, that being the playoffs and winning games beyond the first round.  Does anyone know what type of focus it takes to do what UW-Whitewater did this season, coming from a conference like the WIAC and a region as loaded as the West?

If you're scheduled to play teams of that caliber every week for the better part of 16 weeks (that's 1/3 of a calendar year), you're bound to lose one eventually.  It's much easier for a team to focus on 4 or 5 games on a 15 games schedule then it is for a team to focus on  15 games on a 15 games schedule.  It becomes a little difficult.  I guess this is ultimately a compliment to UWW on what they were able to do as they entered the Stagg 14 - 0.  If the quality of wins index were some how more mathematically accurate than it is right now, they probably will never be a team that grades out as well as UWW did this past season.  Except for maybe next year's UWW team.  Let's win the WIAC first, and let's keep our focus throughout the best we can.  Who do we open up with next year?  That's all that matter right now.
