Quiet board for game eve. Bobo- come back or 413 will find you.

My understanding is the Hawks are driving up tomorrow morning- we need another fundraiser.

Emma - not sure if you were taking a shot at me with the "another fundraiser" comment - hope not!

As far as me being able to make the drive up.  I was planning to go up today to watch my hometown Durand Panthers (#2 in D4) try to wrap up an unbeaten regular season tonight and then drive up HWY 25 another 20 miles to Menomonie to watch the Warhawks at Stout tomorrow but kidney stone removal surgery has put a halt to those plans. Just my 4th game since 1988 that I'll miss, but my second this year. Man, I've got to get healthy!!!!

I know E17 will answer for himself, but there's no way he was referring to you, Voice.  After all, he's not Purplesuit!

?

Just kiddin ya man.  It was unwarranted for sure.  I know you were perceived (including by me, truthfully) to be more than a bit cold towards towards Seaman over on the OAC boards.  Plus we haven't heard from you in awhile.  ;)

I did not know there was a no travel rule. When did that happen? Certainly hurts the teams who are at one end of the state.  Uwsp has a sweet deal sitting right in the center of the state.  There longest drive would be under 3 hrs and all others 2 hrs or less.

I had heard of the conference rule before. It is a pretty recent change (the last several years I think).  I can't understand why they couldn't simply leave it to each university to decide what provides the best experience for their kids. Seems like supporters of most schools would consider that a pretty good cause to pitch in towards.

It looks like Menomonie may be fairly dry (weatherwise) for this afternoon's UWW-Stout game.
Here's the updated West Central Wisconsin weather forecast:
A few showers early, then clouds lingering for the afternoon. High 61F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30%

Traffic and a news update is coming up in 60 seconds!.

Still traveling the great state of MN. but should be in front of a computer by kickoff. Just hoping my 83 year old father's computer is functioning properly and not in need of my repair services like usual.   >:(.    Get rest, Voice, and take care of yourself.  Again, so disappointed to have missed your day and sorry that you can't be in Minonomie today but I found out 5 years ago, that they can still actually win without my being in attendance.  LOL.   Never easy to beat the Blue Devils at home so,

GO WARHAWKS

I am so worried about, BoBo!  :'(

All you have to do is look at ESPN2 with the Minnesota v. Northwestern game in Minneapolis and you will see what we have here in Menomonie. Heavy drizzle.

Ho hum--Falcons lead Pointers 16-7 at half. A 92 yd runback of Point k.o. and 3 f.goals produce 16 points. First lead at half for RF this season!

Well, Saturday should be a good day for the Warhawks to get back in sync on offense. River Falls gives up a ton of yards, and points.

But we'll see.

I thought the same going into last week for UWO...yet after dropping 70pts on Alma they only put up 19 against a relatively weak UWRF's team.
So what to make of this?  UWO is not as good as everyone thought?  UWRF is improving, at least defensively?  I guess after UWO/UWEC square off that will give us a better indication.  And to see what kind of fight UWRF puts up against UWW.  I don't think anything's a given in this conference.
So does a UWO 50-13 victory over UWEC really give us any better indication of what kind of team UWO is? :-\

Not really, but the next game against UWP should. I am looking forward to being able to hopefully watch both that game and of cours the UWW game online.
So does a 34-13 victory over Platteville in a constant rain really give us any better indication of what kind of team UWO is?  :-\

I don't know the exact reasoning but the WARHAWKS were allowed to leave Friday.  My understanding is that it had something to do with the marching band competition being held at Perkins Stadium today.  However they only drove to Madison where they stayed overnight.  Ate in Eau Claire and arrived at Stout at noon.

The travel rule was instituted for economic reasons at the same time the in conference nonconference game was mandated by the commissioner.

Stout was held to 6 net yards rushing.

Much better indication then before. UWO has finally beaten it's first team with a winning record. I thought UWP would have been better because they have been tested more but oops, I was wrong. UWO is good, they can for sure come into Perkins Stadium and beat UWW but I don't think they will. Their offense has struggled before against good defenses (UWL and UWRF) and UWW's is better then both. Iff UWW plays like they did today they can win.

No one and I mean no one is taking Oshkosh lightly.  They're an outstanding team.  I was able to watch the video broadcast today (BTW, excellent work) and they dominated Platteville on both sides of the ball. We've got our work cut out for us.

Nice win for River Falls over Stevens Point today.  They held the Pointers to under 100 yards both rushing and passing and intercepted 5 passes.  Congrats to the Falcons.

Nice compliment, BP!

stoutguy--will you be there for the Stout/RF  game in 2 weeks?
