Might stop by, 02.  Gonna be a full day, so we'll see.

I also saw that Oshkosh has given up some rushing yardage.  Platteville and EC each gained 150 yards (and that is net of sack yards).  It's probably not rocket science to suggest that whoever wins the rushing yardage, wins the game - unless turnovers trump it.

I wouldn't read too much in EC's rushing yards.  Half of it was Neu running for his life (95 passing yards) and the other half is Sweeney, who is a beast and if not for him EC's stats would be dismal.

Sweeney and Ward have the same body type, and have similar running styles. I'm thinking Oshkosh will stack the line and force Brekke to beat them.  :-\

Sweeney was at 9-46 in EC's first two drives (score was 6-0, still a game).  Didn't get a touch on the 3rd & 5th drives, 1-5 on 4th.  Ended up 11-62 at the half.  Seems to me like he was effective and productive, but EC totally went away from him - mostly by choice, then because of the score.

I guess I'm just suggesting that Oshkosh's run D may have at least one chink in the armor.  A competent pass game must still be used to keep them off balance, but there is a decent chance that UWW can run the ball some.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

I've been questioning that all season. They seem to abandon the run a lot, which has cost them.

Today can't go by fast enough.

And by the way...we are smoking a beef brisket for the game tomorrow. So if anyone wants a sandwich please stop by..we're going to have way too much food.
Great tailgate food!! I would attend, but tough to be back for a 1:30 kick-off in Wav town. :D

Nice to see the increased activity on the ol WIAC board.  Nothing like a battle between top 10 teams to turn it on.  I'm with you 02- can't wait to wake up tomorrow morning (God willing).

Bleed- I've performed a telekinetic diagnosis and determined you are suffering from a serious case of "Ican'taccceptthefactthattheTitansareforrealandtheirexcellencethreatensmyUWWcomfortzone-itis"  :)

I enjoy reading the different viewpoints as to what has to happen for each team to be successful.  The fact that we're having these conversations should remind us how fortunate we are to support teams in such a competitive league.  And I believe that the competiveness of the league enhances the tailgate experience, making for an incredible day tomorrow.

My rundown on tomorrow's game (and I preface by saying I was completely wrong last week as I was convinced the UWW offense needed the UWW defense to turn Stout over in order to be successful).

When UWW is on offense.  UWO has better DB's than Stout and will dare UWW to throw- this will allow them to play tougher at the line of scrimmage and really challenge the UWW run game.  Last year Blanchard's abilities, including his scrambling ability (91 rushing yards in addition to 209 passing) was the difference maker.  The big question is- If Brekke is forced to be a/the reason UWW wins, can he do it?

When UWW is on defense.  I'm all warm and fuzzy inside.

Speaking of warm and fuzzing inside...I still need to get some beverages for tomorrow

Exactly.  Note the second drive against LaX.  Run the ball the first drive for 7 pts.  Second drive, run it to the 12 yd line.  Then two incomplete passes.  Then missed field goal.  No points.  Could have come back and bit them in the butt if LaX wouldn't have had the turnovers.

For those that ever took a look at my blog, you'll know what play chaps my ass the most.

Eau Claire has the lead and the ball late in the 4th. St. Thomas is out of time outs. On the first play of the drive they PASS!!!! Neu throws a pick that leads to the game winning TD for UST.

Now since UW-Oshkosh played UW-Whitewater close last year, should this game be titled "Wrath of the Titans" or "Revenge of the Titans"?
