Nice to see the increased activity on the ol WIAC board.  Nothing like a battle between top 10 teams to turn it on.  I'm with you 02- can't wait to wake up tomorrow morning (God willing).

Bleed- I've performed a telekinetic diagnosis and determined you are suffering from a serious case of "Ican'taccceptthefactthattheTitansareforrealandtheirexcellencethreatensmyUWWcomfortzone-itis"  :)

I enjoy reading the different viewpoints as to what has to happen for each team to be successful.  The fact that we're having these conversations should remind us how fortunate we are to support teams in such a competitive league.  And I believe that the competiveness of the league enhances the tailgate experience, making for an incredible day tomorrow.

Emma.....another excuse to have a couple more libations tomorrow????   As if we needed any!   8-) ;D

Libation preparation in 5 hours, followed by a brief respite, and then get the game face on.

The following is an excerpt from a Royal Purple article titled "Loud Crowd Needed for Conference Clash On Saturday"

"The key to a great home-field advantage is having great fans. To those watching the game on Saturday, do not stop cheering at any point during the game.
Whether the Warhawks are winning, tied or losing, they need and will use the crowd. Cheer loudly when the Titans are on offense, be quieter when the 'Hawks are trying to score and go crazy after every positive play.
UW-Whitewater students have been spoiled by the perennial greatness of the Warhawk football program.  Just because the team has been winning forever does not make it any less impressive. The program has brought so much positive publicity and recognition to the university.
Now, finally, the team might need our support to get through a tough game. The least we can do is go to Perkins Stadium on Saturday, be loud and let the Titans know whose house they're in."
You know I'll do my part...................... 8-)

I love the sentiment but the,"winning forever," part?     ::)  Geez, 2004 was really not that long ago. Oh, to be that young again.

Now since UW-Oshkosh played UW-Whitewater close last year, should this game be titled "Wrath of the Titans" or "Revenge of the Titans"?

It really should be called "The Empire Strikes Back". The empire being UWW!  ;D

As a WIAC fan I want a close fought game to help get UWO into the playoffs. As a UWW fan I hope they can crush them something like 45-7. The first is obviously the one that is likely to happen.

If UWO loses big or a one close one they'll get in (of course as long as they win the rest of their games). So, just to be safe, lets hope for a 45-7 score  ;D

If we're hoping for a big game why not go for a Lakeland 2009 score of 70-7!  ;D Yes, I know, highly unlikely, but we can all dream!  8-)

Plus you can tell looking at this board and everything else that UWO is the favorite to win and no matter what they say they'll feel that way. Big game + overconfidence could help UWW too. They've been there before and UWO hasn't.
This is what I hope will happen, too.  I always like our chances when the team plays with a chip on their shoulders.  The 07 team, whose National Championship 5th anniversary will be recognized tomorrow, played with one every week.  No one but the players and their coaching staff thought the 3rd time would be the charm!    ;)

Chili in crockpot, blue cheese olives stuffed.  See you all in the AM!  Going to be a big day!

GO WARHAWKS!!!

According to dictionary.com:

"The attribution of one's own attitudes, feelings, or desires to someone or something as a naive or unconscious defense against anxiety or guilt..."   ;D

I'm not the one obsessed by the Titans "excellence".  I'm not the one who has been going on for two years about how good they are. I was hoping not to have to bring this back, but last year you were so over-the-top it necessitated a blog made on your behalf.  Remember this?

http://www.emmalovesthetitans.blogspot.com/  ;)
A 20-10 win isn't what I WANT to happen. It's what I THINK is going to happen. I'm all on board with the 45-7 thing as far as what I want to happen.
OMG......someone please help me get off the floor.   I am truly ROFLMAO!!!  Bleed, this is priceless  ;D

So now Emma, I've got to ask u, does it itch? :)

How could you!!  You just won't let me move on will you. Everytime I begin to gain strength from that heartbreak you insist on reopening old and painful wounds.
You hit below the belt Bleed- and it hurts, it really hurts.

Random thoughts before departure.
413 you make great Bloodies.
Any word on Bobo?
I was reminded of another absent poster- is SeventiesRaider ok?
UWO benefitted from a couple long runs last year- one up the middle- I bet that doesn't happen tomorrow.
I don't wish injury on anyone and I truly hope Wara plays the entire game- but w the amount of times the ball is in his hands he is going to take a lot of hits I imagine. He should slide.

Old and painful wounds, itching, and below the belt should never, ever be mentioned in this close of proximity on these boards again!  :)

Me too.  ;) I'm thinking just to be safe, he should never cross the line of scrimmage without sliding! :)

All kidding aside, I know UWW posters all wish for a hard fought, terrific, no-injury for either side, battle today with the Hawks coming away with the victory!!  ;) DEFENSE, Baby!!!

seems like a lot of excitement in wisconsin land today.  enjoy the game and the tailgating and good luck to both teams.  hopefully you get what you want, a really good, hard fought game won by someone in the 4th quarter.  I took UWW in the confidence pickem but Oshkosh in the OAC point spread pickem so that is what I expect.  if any of you see olinemom at the tailgates tell her that I said hi and enjoy the game.

Thanks WD. If I get the blessing of meeting Olinemom, I will pass along your greeting.  With her coming it would have been a great weekend to put on the extra miles and come to Wisconsin! Then again, I'm sure you will see her in December.

Although I can't speak for the others, if I get what I want, I would have to change your second sentence to:

"hopefully you get what you want, a really good, hard fought game won by someone UW-W in well before the 4th quarter."  ;D

Enjoy the Salisbury/Alfred game. Looking forward to reading your report.

LET'S GO HAWKS!

RECRUITING ALERT!!

I've posted about my adopting Walworth Bigfoot High School. They have a running back, who is listed at 5' 10", 200lbs (which may be generous) who has broken their record for TD's. He's been good since his Sophmore year, but only this year became their #1 option. He reminds me a bit of, dare I say it, Justin Beaver. And he has one of the best names I've heard. Mason Dixon.

He should be required to choose between only schools in the North or South regions  ;D
