Falcons play tuff in 35-19 loss to Bemidji: good guys trail 14-13 at half after outplaying Lumberjacks first half, then rally to 21-19 early in fourth quarter. RF employs, wonder of wonders, the shotgun becuz of passing talent of Sean Wolfe, best all around qb ever at RF, according to John O'Grady.

RF gains 313 yds on  ground, but completes only 8/25 passes, has 2 players gain over 100 yds rushing (Wolfe 163, Anderson,fb, 115), stymies BSU on the ground for 3 quarters, rallies to 21-19 early fourth quarter. And some of u think Falcons will finish last?

Don't pick against them next week.

Good game plan by the Pointers.....shorten the game with long drives and keep Elliott off the field.  Play of the game had to be the INT return for a TD in the 2nd quarter.

3 roughing the QB penalties on Elliott was a little dirty, but I guess you'll do whatever you have to.

Pointers just didnt have the speed to hang with the Cats.  Even though they tried to keep the Butcher off of the field by running ground chuck O, the Cats AGAIN showed that they can get it done in a hurry.  Probably most impressive to me was the Wildcat D.  Great communication ,  Lots of purple around the ball and most of all there were several hits that will be on the Championship 05 highlight tape.  My #1 hit of the day was the one put on the Pointer player and his helmet came off in pieces.  He looked like he was on an Easter egg hunt, trying to pick them all up and get to the sidelines.  The croud was yelling  "WELCOME TO THE CATDOME"  It was just that kind of day for the Pointers.  Look for the Cat D to continue to dominate and the Butcher and his crew will continue to serve em up one purple frisbee at a time.

I cannot believe I missed one this week.  Darn it all Platteville.  They are dead last anway.  Great job to the teams that won and represented the WIAC well.  Whitewater beating up on the high school team from Sheboygan and Stout crashing the tea party on the East Coast.  It is going to be a fun week next week.

Plattfan

I am so Poed with the Drake outcome.  I know there Div 1-AA But look at these game stats.

http://www.uwplatt.edu/athletics/football/2005/stats/2005-3.htm

Scott Phaydavong rushing 28 times for 234 yards!  What really sucks about it is most of his gains were long runs.  Whats with the Run D at Platt?

Pointers,

Tough day for your boys. Glad you guys had the nads to play us the last two seasons which is more than we can say for some other teams out here. I'm sure the 'Cats will be playing more WIAC teams during the regular season in the years to come. Hope you win your conference since you are willing to play the best teams in the country (Hardin-Simmons and Linfield) plus a good conference schedule.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.
