Realizing there are other QB's on the UWW roster that might be better than Patrick, it's still fun to read about those that are competing.  I provided a link to an older article on Patrick at the bottom of this post.

In the article I also found the following line from their head coach to be very, I mean extremely, relevant to what happened with the UWW offense this year.  "We have a whole lot of explosive players, no super stars but all good athletes," Leonard said. "What is winning football? What is the No. 1 thing? It used to be ball control and time possession and turnovers. All are important. But explosive plays are more important today, the number of guys who can go all the way on every play.

Please keep us up to date on your progress.  Not having playoff games will mean no trips to UWW until the football dinner.  Hope to see you then.

As far as my battle is concerned, I'm trying to take it "a day at a time" and believe me that is easier said than done.

With the Warhawk football team NOT in the playoffs I'm now spending my time on my Voice's Eye on Basketball Blog blogging Warhawk basketball.  http://www.voiceseyeonbasketball.blogspot.com/

Battling cancer has so much to do with being able to emotionaly and mentally deal with the disease.  I was feeling "down" last weekend and decided to drive down to Monmouth, IL to watch the UWW women's basketball team play.  The Hawks lost in OT but taught me a great lesson on battling to the end.  I blogged a story on my thoughts this past Monday.

Lesson for us all.  Keep up the fight and I hope by the time of the football banquet that you have some great news to share!  That is one of my holiday wishes.   Thanks for all you do.

Good luck to Lane!!!!   BTW, we need a Danny Jones, Matt Blanchard type of QB to show up in the locker room next year.  Or maybe one of those 3 QB's at UW-P wants a chance at more playing time.   8-)

If this were the NFL, UW-W could trade one of their 4 linebackers for one of UW-P's QB's.  Seems like it could be a fair trade.  But I wouldn't want to lose one of those guy's anyway! Who knows, maybe the next big thing is already on the team. A lot can happen in 9 months!

Keep the defense intact.  This team was so much closer to playoff football than outsiders know.  A championship defense almost always gives a team a chance to win.  The offense was literally a few first downs from 8-2 or 9-1.
As for QB- I remember when Blanchard got a few snaps when Donovan was tearing it up.  I don't mind saying I wasn't too sure about him as a sophomore.
Behrendt is a sophomore and showed no reason why we shouldn't have hope in his development.
In addition, there is a freshman on the roster- Patrick Smith.  He doesn't have great measurables, but he played on a great high school team in IL that always made playoff runs- I like that sort of experience for a QB especially.  Plus he played (not sure if he still can) shortstop in baseball, similar to Donovan and LL as well.

Jeff came to WHITEWATER with a great bio.   But I remember watching him as a sophomore in a JV game in which he played rather poorly and thinking "you've got to be kidding me."  The rest as we all know is history.  He ended up one of the best quarterbacks to ever wear PURPLE.

Which proves two things.  That players can be much better as upperclassman and that despite how many nights I spend a in a Holiday Inn Express I'm not the guy you want evaluating talent.

Anyone planning on heading to Oshkosh for the Bethel game?

Absolutely...I'll be with former teamates of mine. Should be a great game!

I'm leaning towards not wearing any Whitewater stuff. I don't want to deal with the comments from Oshkosh fans.

I say go ahead and wear your UWW apparel...long as your pulling for the Titans I don't care what you wear!

Another question for you all, is Bethel the toughest test for the Titans this season?

I guess we'll know that answer in a couple of days.

In my less than humble opinion, the answer is NO.   Platteville and Whitewater would most likely both handle Bethel easily.  If it wasn't for a lucky bounce/brain fart by C-Moorhead, Bethel would have never made it.  And if not for the NCAA gift of traveling to C-Chicago, Bethel's playoffs would have been one & done.

Oshkosh by 24.   Or more.

Only thing standing between Oshkosh and the Stagg is next week's game against the Linfield/NCC winner.

I think Ray Beckman is the guy for the future-very good QB in HS in Illinois.

I'm sure St. Thomas (assuming they win their next two games) may have something to say about that.....

WOW can that kid kick BOMBS. He sure won't hurt the field position part of the game
