From Warhawkfootball.com.......

Former UW-Whitewater linebacker Lane Olson worked out for the New York Jets earlier this week. He posted the following on Facebook early Wednesday afternoon.

My work out went great and I am heading to NYI have been offered a future contract with the NY jets In January. I am truly blessed and Just shows never give up on your dreams. Lane is coming off a successful season playing earlier this year for Rhinos Milano of the Italian Football League.

Posted some thoughts on what to do if staying in Portland on the ATN board, but I'm a little short on cool memories from McMinnville. I remember going out in town, but can't think of the name of the place we went.

The original request was from an Oshkosh fan/parent so thought it might be of use here.

CatdomeAlumni's GameDay guides have places to eat in McMinnville in them, as do the Meet a Player features. Here's the one from the PLU game.

Don't completely dismiss the OAC simply because Heidelberg, who was 0-36 just a few years ago and qualified for the playoffs for the first time EVER, lost a big halftime lead by pissing down their leg in the 2nd half.  Expecting a team made up almost entirely of sophomores to win their 1st playoff game against a decent opponent is asking for a lot.

Now, I personally think the OAC is slightly over rated at #2 because the bottom half of the conference is horrid, but it's a top 5 conference.  I'd personally rank it right now as:
1  WIAC
2  CCIW
3  NWC
4  OAC
5  E-8

I think at the time we did the rating it was still worth keeping the OAC where it was, although in hindsight this was a really bad year for the bottom five.

I would probably go WIAC, MIAC, NWC, CCIW, OAC this season -- maybe not in that order, but definitely including the MIAC in the top five.

I wish.

Been working Saturdays for basically the first time, which made long trips almost impossible this year.

The good news is that it's allowed me to watch a lot of teams on video, and so I actually have seen some of every team left, except St. Thomas, which Pat has seen a lot of.

I'm still wondering how similar UWP's offense is to Linfield's. Is there anyone out there who's seen both teams play and can provide any info where that's concerned?

Sorry Kluch, I know you're looking for some feedback here, but I can't help you in detail.  I saw both teams play on streaming video- and they both pass a lot, and very well.  They use the short passing game to pick up yards and leave themselves makeable 3rd down conversions.  I saw some deeper stuff from Linfield as well.  I can't tell you a thing in terms of comparing offensive lines- both QB's were able to move well to avoid pressure.  Both teams played against very, very good run defenses in the games I saw, so it's hard to provide insight.

At the end of the day, I'd be surprised if Linfield's passing game was significantly better than UWP's.  So if you're trying to gauge how UWO will do vs. Linfield based on UWO's performance vs. UWP, I guess you can take some comfort as long as UWP played well vs UWO (this has got to be a confusing sentence).

Have not offered many opinions in the last couple of weeks because simply do not have the current knowledge necessary to have an informed opinion.....but do know one thing that in 5 years traveling to every Warhawk game Linfield was the best trip we ever made....so have a great time win or lose Osh Kosh folks.....will be watching on the computer .......Pound the Rock....

I'm guessing Notre Dame. But I didn't even consider D II since I don't follow that much.

Congrats to UWW B Ball team. Looks like they will fill in as National Contenders (again) instead of the football bunch.
