runningdevils, you said it.  I shouldn't have second-guessed myself about platteville, i knew phaydavong would wreak havoc. oh well. Titans kicked butt, that's all that matters. what the frick happened in mcminnville? I think we all knew linny would win, but a blowout that bad? what's going on with point's O this year?

That's how many rushing yards Albion had against Oshkosh.

Right now Patek seems to be a little shaky on the road, going 8/18 with 1 TD and 2 Int. (Patek was 8/19, with 2TD's in the opener at William and Penn).

padmofu:

The points O ran into the Cats D in the Catdome that's all...  Your lucky you got the blocked punt or it would have been a big goose egg... Be happy the cats had a slow start or it would have been 50 + ..We would love to see you again down the road but it's not going to happen this year..

We want Central , SJU and then the Big purple machine (raiders)..  Do you think they are tell everyone they don't like being # 3 this year...  70 -0 pretty nice...

I ditto Foss's comments.  Thank you for putting us on your schedule when you could have chosen an easier less challenging opponent.  It takes class and guts to schedule two great teams out of your conference.

To the woman I saw at the game yesterday wearing a Pointers sweatshirt, I only wish I'd stopped in my tracks gotten out of my comfort zone and said, "Welcome to Oregon, and thank you for having the guts for putting us on your schedule. I congratulate you as a fan for flying all the way out here to support your team."

Wouldn't  the world be a better place if more people like you
took the risk to play the best when they could settle for less?
You take your lumps and learn from the experience and look how tall you stand when you show your courage when you could have chosen a lesser path.

I love your beautiful state when I've been there to visit and have more respect than ever for the great state of Wisconsin.
All of success and spirit of the game is not reflected in the score.  In that sense Lombardi was wrong,  "Winning is Not the Only Thing".

Go Pointers. Stand proud and tall.  You gave it everything you had yesterday and who can ask for more. DIII Football is a better game with teams like yours in it.

Plattfan, about the Platteville run defense, as long as I could remember, they were not any good.  Sounds like the same thing this year.

runningdevils

I am really not sure that UWSP is a top tier team this year.  Sc far being outscored 83-19.  I know they played good teams, and I did say the WIAC was down this year, but I am not buying them in the top 4 of the WIAC.  I mean River Falls represented better with a good showing and new offensive plan against a D2 team.

runningdevils

I will not be giving out my answers early to help anyone out this week.  It should be a Very easy week though.  UWSP should be able to get on the win column.  Here are my power rankings for the WIAC.

Last Week     This Week
UWW            UWW
UWL              UWL
UWS              UWS
UWEC            UWEC
UWSP            UWO
UWP              UWSP
UWO             UWRF
UWRF            UWP

runningdevils I don't know maybe theyll learn from this.  I mean Im sure theyll find out whats wrong with the RUN D and fix it.  But what is it the D Line?  The backfield what is it?    And Platteville can always put up a lot of yards just not touchdowns whats up with that?

warhawkguy

The WARHAWKS did whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted and with whomever they wanted.  The 73 points established a new school record for points in a game that had stood since 1958 (vs. Eau Claire) and the three game total of 152 points broke the school record of 140.

Justin Jacobs continued his hot streak hitting 13 of 19 passes for 204 yards and four touchdowns in the first half before sitting out the second stanza.  Justin Beaver continued to be a very adequate replacement at tailback with 138 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 first half carries.   Jim Leszczynski had 7 receptions for the second week in a row with 76 yards and two touchdowns.  The WARHAWKS offense put out a staggering 635 total yards with a balanced 321 rushing and 314 thru the airways.

Platterville recovers 4 of 5 Drake turnovers and the Bulldog are penalized 15 times for 111 yards but Platterville still can't make a game of it?  I knew I was going to regret that pick.  When will I learn???

Lynn Field pursed his lips like a (Gig Harbor/desert/cam) cat's arsehole and contemplated how he might befoul the playground of next week's opponent with vile excrement. With a Cheshire's slight grin at the thought, he ambled away from  the Cathouse, clad all in purple like a Windy City pimp.

Did UW-L have trouble getting another Non-Conf. game? They had two road games, now two weeks off in a row, it's Oct. 1 before they play a home game.
