-Jordan Palmer looked good last night. He had a lot more protection upfront- and therefore better opportunity to make throws. Good for the Bears, not sure how this will impact Matt.

Palmer was cut.

Bears only have 2 QBs on their roster

You are officially my information pipeline- thanks.
So now we wait to see if they pick someone up from the wire.

Speculation down here is that Jimmy Clausen will be available soon.    :)

WIACers/UWWites-

Thanks for your responses to my recent post. I appreciate your knowledge and opinions. Its nice to be able to exchange opposing viewpoints without the back and forth sniping that often occurs when you "invade" a foreign room with an unpopular opinion. I guess, as footballfan413 said, we will/can agree to disagree.  :)

Watching the Bears game last night, I was surprised Palmer and Edwards played as well as they did. As such, I was surprised both were cut today. However, I was also kinda glad as this still leaves open the possibility of bringing back Matt Blanchard. Hopefully the Bears realize that in addition to his talent, he already knows the offense so adding him to the practice squad when his settlement expires would not require as much as a teaching/learning experience as adding someone with no previous exposure. 1 vote for Matt!  :)

Interesting.  On here, you are are happy to agree to disagree, but I get a private message continuing the discussion. Is that an attempt to, "divide and conquer?"  ;) ;D

Not at all footballfan413. My PM was a personal reply to a specific point you had brought up, and was neither any type of intent to do anything to either "divide or conquer" nor anything I thought pertained to anyone else besides us.

By the way, I'm sending you another PM with a copy of something you might want to take a look at.  ;D

I find it hard to believe a school is going to give any kid $40,000 or even close to it in academic money.

I'll just say that you might want to take a look at Rule 9 of the Terms Of Service.
And a +K back at you, sir.

footballfan413, Sir, to add to your point I believe that private schools as a group do a better job of insuring that a student graduates in 4 years. Therefore 4 years of private school tuition vs. 5 years of public school tuition things begin to even out.

As you alluded to, about 10 years ago the NCAA eliminated the red shirt for D3 recognizing that fact and supposedly to even things up, thereby creating the grey shirt.  Not sure of the specifics of all that.

So, Sir 413, public school +k for you.  8-)

Opps! My bad.  It appears I did violate it but to be fair, I didn't quote you, more like, I paraphrased you.   ;) None the less, my sincere apologies to you and to D-3football.com.  :-[  I have removed my post.

Ahh, the ol' "Terms of service." Got to admit I had never read them before. Typical Guru though, making his points with dry humor oozing all over. Good stuff.  :)

I had never read them either and I certainly, never violated one before!   ;)  Pat has my permission to give me a stern, "talking to," at my tailgate this season.   ;D Hope you and the family are well, BDB.   :-*

Hello fellow UWW fans (and assorted other WIAC fans plus other board friends) I have returned from my long absence of being crazy busy and I'm ready for some UWW football. Never stopped following them last year even when I was gone but I'm ready for another season and being involved. For those in the know can anyone give me the skinny about the team this year?  ;D

Thanks -- hopefully that's a good thing. :) Pretty old copy but yes, definitely written that way on purpose.

Hey UW Stout fans-
I saw your team yesterday at Augsburg and I thought your team looked good! Due to the configuration of Edor Nelson Field; with the stands right on top of the visitors bench, I was able to see Stout up close. Big O-linemen, good hard running RB's and linebackers that really hit hard are the things that stood out to me. The Stout kicker(s) were impressive too. Might have been the same kid doing both but he has a good leg on field goals and punts. Lined up one kick over 40 yds and just missed it wide with plenty of distance to spare. It was a hot day sitting in the direct sun but it was good to see a WIAC team and to get the 2013 season started. Good Luck this year!

Thanks for the report OldAuggie. Like everyone that hangs around this joint I am looking forward to the opener next week.

I believe there is some connection between our 2 athletic staffs that got this scrimmage thing going last year. Hopefully it keeps up in the future as the distance and relationship would seem to be beneficial to both squads.  8-)
