Congrats to EC's Derek Sikora on winning the D3 165lb wrestling title.

WIACPOWER

janesvilleflash and 1 for 27,

I know that osh showed promise last year, but what (or who) do they have to challange ww this year???

janesvilleflash

They have almost everyone coming back, and played a bunch of sophmores last year, who could get better this year, including the QB.

Not saying WW shouldn't beat them, but WW can't afford to let up at all or Oshkosh or someone else will be right there to take it away.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

As buf says, congratulations to UWEC's Derek Sikora, who becomes the first Blugold wrestler in school history to win a national championship...

RE: UWEC football coach - applications for the position were due in last week. Target date for selecting a new coach is April 1, depending on how it goes... No word on candidates, though...

Kilted Rat

Safe to say WarhawkBader/ IDON'TKNOWSH*T/POUNDTHEROCK isn't among the candidates?
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

I've heard that Lakeland's head coach, Jim Zebrowski, is a candidate.

I've also heard that St Johns will not renew their contract with EC after this year's game.  Of course they have added River Falls.  Perhaps they'll fill that week with LaCrosse in the future.

Before we even start speculating whose going to be tough next year, I'd like to make a few key statements:

1. I kind of hate speculating because it's way too hard to predict.  Every year, it seems like two semi-favorites to win conference loss 2 or 3 of their first five games and also two sleepers go 4-1 over the first five games.  The next  5 games are even harder to pick.  It's impossible to pick who is going to finish in what place next year.  Who is going to be tough next year? Everyone except UW-Superior.

That's it.  Just one statement.

Thank you for the time you spent reading my post.

Whitewater fans....

I just finished a video project on Linfield's top ten moments over the past ten years that were voted on by former players, staff, and fans.  The Whitewater vs Linfield game came in number 7 on the list.

The video link to Linfield's game highlights of "The Game" are below:

The truly epic but heartbreaking 44-41 defeat matched #1 vs #2 at Linfield's Catdome.  Both teams went toe-to-toe, Whitewater (13-0) using an outstanding balanced offense while Linfield (10-1) lit up the sky with their aerial attack.  The Warhawks would punch in the game winner with 42 seconds remaining and Linfield's last gasp fell short.

Wildcat 11,

Job well done on your the #7 video clip of the Linfield-Whitewater game as well as the other Linfield Top-20 highlights of the past decade.  While Linfield fans, of course, point to their national championship, your game vs WW, despite the loss, I believe is one of the great games in recent NCAA Division III history. We were just fortuate to come away with the win. If their was an additional 60 seconds added to the game, the outcome probably would have been different.  Man, spring practice is just a month away!!

With the CCIW dominating WIAC teams in this past weekend's NCAA Division III basketball tournament, maybe those schools might think about getting some backbone and agreeing to play WIAC football teams in nonconference action. If not, then at least give us an explanation why you refuse.  It is getting assinine why schools in the Midwest, especially the CCIW, simply refuse to play WIAC teams other than an occasional game vs. Platteville.  If someone knows, give us a holler!

CaptainKurt

Voice,
I know the reason why no one from the CCIW doesn't want to play WIAC schools.  They don't like the way the back of the WIAC's hand feels.  They would get bitch-slapped by almost any team in the WIAC.

CaptainKurt

After further review...............
My last statement was pretty bold.  Can't really believe that I said this on here.  But you know what, some times you just need to speak your mind.  I don't think the CCIW holds a flame to the WIAC.

I can't wait until the first CCIW person gets on here and tries to tear me up/convince me otherwise.

voice

Captain K...

I have to admit you were a little bold!  I also posted this afternoon on the CCIW football site in the North Region.  Take a look at the immediate response I got from a North Central College alumnus.  In his mind, small, private schools can't match up with the giant D3 schools in the WIAC. Not sure if it is arrogance, but he mentioned that schools like St. Johns play WIAC schools because the MIAC doesn't have quality opponents like the CCIW has.
