Thought I would jump in here with something really negative.  Wasn't going to say anything because it always sounds like sour grapes, but so be it.  If anyone saw it or gets a chance to see the ending of the Platteville/Stout game, explain something to me.  With less than a minute to play, why would a coach continue to use all his starters and feel it was important to get that 59th point with another shot to the end zone to his leading receiver.  Add this little gem.  Said coach calls our coach last week to tell him to "Hang in there" because he has been there and knows what it's like.  Nice message on the phone, but how about following it up with some class on the field on game day.  Kind of makes the phone message kind of hollow doesn't it.  Clayt took 3 knees to run out the clock on his last possession to make his point.  By the way, I don't plan on anymore dialogue on my part regarding this subject.  Suffice to say, "Go Whitewater"

News from Matt Blanchard this evening.  Matt tweeted late this afternoon Want to thank @ThrowItDeepQBs for helping me get back n ready for the workouts I've had! Blessed to join the Carolina Panthers!

His decision may have been accelerated after the Bears signed Jordan Palmer this week as their 3rd QB.

retagent

I was hoping the Vikings would pick him up. Lord knows they couldn't get any worse with him at  QB.

I know the feeling, especially now that Cutler is out.

Up 17 with 4:00 minutes to go, and your opponent still had all their timeouts left...one could make an argument either way about leaving their starters in at that point in the game. But I could see your frustration if their coach presents himself one way, but acts another.

Did Vlasak get hurt that game? I see his last touch was early in the 3rd quarter when UWP went up 42-14. Or did they pull him, while keeping the rest of their key position players in?

They threw a TD pass with ONE minute left 02. Have seen UW-W in this situation many times. LL has the same consistent strategy. He will run up the middle 4 straight times as the clock is running down in the last couple of minutes when ahead by more that two scores.   Not only does he not try to score a TD, he won't kick a FG.  Four minutes left would be a completely different story (and it should be).  One minute? No way. UW-W runs up the middle every time and takes a knee if it will run out the clock.

Not sure if it was just missed last time when I asked or if it's just that nobody knows but do we have any idea for next year or farther out who UWW's non-conference opponents will be? I know it might be early but I'm always looking to see new teams play.

That's true, I was looking at when UWP started that drive (when there was over 4:00 minutes left).

We finished our home/away series with Wash U and Buff St., and I'm doubt we have anything scheduled with Waldford next year. I'm guessing not because I don't think we typically schedule a NAIA team in advance (they are more of a safety net if no DIII team is available/willing). So I'm guessing the coaching staff has some work to do in the off season to fill out their non-conference schedule.

We are having our usual problem scheduling out of conference games.  The last thing I had heard though it was a while back is that we have three home games scheduled for next year and they are all conference games. Perhaps things have changed since then I don't know.

Bleed, don't be surprised if you see Waldorf on our schedule next year.

(Head turning side to side) "Hey, how did I get dragged into this?"  ;D

OK, I won't be surprised.  ;)

Saw a football staff member after the Waldorf game. People were riding him about it being a boring game.  His response was funny.  "It probably would have been more boring for you if we played air. You can only play who picks up the phone."

I am hoping there are a FEW D3 schools out there with openings that are serious about getting better and want to take the UW-W, UW-O, Franklin approach of playing a top tier team to see what it takes to get there.  It's been rough so far, I know that. Another possibility would be Wesley. They have a hard time finding D3 games. Maybe when UMHB falls off their schedule, UW-W could slide in.  Otherwise, I will be happy to see Waldorf. Football season is too short as it is (for me, not players and coaches.  ;D)  At the end of the day, whatever it takes to play 10 games.  Play a D2 school? I'm guessing they have less interest in that than other D3 schools.
