Thanks to Pat and Ralph for the clarification.  As I stated earlier, I figured that one would have to look at a map of the schools to see the "schools per state," make up when drawing any kind of boundries or trying to understand the decisions that are made.  Looks like it is just an unfortunate fact of geographic locations that make "out-of-region," travel more of a hardship on some schools than others.  Thanks again.  Always happy to learn from the D-3 Football Guru's!!!  :) :)

If anyone else has google earth installed on their computer, there is a post in the forums at Whatifsports, that has a link to a map someone created.  It shows the location of all the D3 football schools.

Got a link to that google map? It's not the easiest site to negotiate -- at least for us old guys.
Thanks.

Here's a better link and I believe it's pretty accurate. You don't have to save it, just open the zip and it should open right up in Google Earth.

Looking at the WW scores from last year's conference games, it appears that only the LX game was in doubt.  Should the same be expected in 06?

Just my personal opinion, but I like Whitewater going 7-0 and looking very strong again this year. I see the La Crosse game being the big one again.  I like Oshkosh and La Crosse playing for second. Oshkosh seemed pretty young last year, but played well.  I'm not sure what to expect from Eau Claire this season with the coaching change, anyone care to opine on how they look?

WSU..I think you are right about the 7 and 0.  What does La Crosse bring back?

kENNETH K.----The Warhawks on paper look better than last year. Two weak spots are the kicking game and defensive backs--- if they can fill those holes and stay comparatively healthy they will be better than last year. The offense certainly will be stronger----Offensive line which was very good only lost one player. They are still strong at QB,RB,WR's and Tight End. Defensive line and linebackers are almost in tact----Should be tough at safeties but need DB's. Recruitment class looks large and talented. Even with the target on their backs the Warhawks will be a very difficult team to beat....

Tom Lange is also coming back.

Believe it or not, this Friday is actually Tom Lange Day at UW-W.  In recognition of his years of volunteer service and support the baseball team will be honoring him in a ceremony between games of the doublehitter at Prucha Field.   Tom has been a fixture at WARHAWK sporting events for many years both as the public address announcer and a loyal fan.

I'm not sure how old he is but he is younger than 80. :D

I believe the old man is just under 75.  But don't quote me on that.

How much of an impact has Tom Lange had on the UW-Whitewater athletic scene over the years?  His many contributions resulted in his induction into the UW-Whitewater Athletic Hall of Fame several years ago for his "distinguished service" to the University.

Not to mention his air horn blowing ability during two a days in august or his count down to kick off starting in April down to the minute ;D

Lange also expanded his mathematical skillz to birthdates as well and can give you hours, minutes, seconds (adjusted for daylight savings as well) until your next birthdate.  That's an important quality to have in life.   I'll toast a Milwaukee Beast Light in honor of Lange Day.

To anyone who still goes over to his house, willingly or unwillingly, take a look at the Peanut Butter in the fridge.  It's from the 70's.  No lie.  And it still tastes good.
