This whole "Build a Website from Scratch" project is really a learning experience!

Anyway, two new postings on warhawkfootball.com:

Preview and prediction of UW-W at TCNJ

The first 2014 Warhawkfootball.com podcast!

I am definitely an amateur at both editing and presentation, but the podcasts will get better.  And if I can get another Warhawk fan to join me, it will be more interesting for sure!

Without a doubt, the highlights are a "Thank You" to Tom Pattison and the Warhawk Fight Song.  Pattison, at least YOU'd better listen to it. I think I might have said "I love you" or something like that.  Out Loud. To another guy.  On the internet.  Wow, I'd better go write something about football or somethin...  :D

Bleed (Jay).... Outstanding job on your first podcast!!  Having your Warhawkfootball.com upcoming game podcast as part of your online game preview is a great fit!  Maybe another podcast with your comments following each Hawk game would be a great addition to your Warhawkfootball.com inventory.  Thanks for the kind words!!!!!!!  If I can be of any assistance on your ongoing development of your Website please ask!

TO UWP FANS ATTENDING THE NCC GAME:

For those unaware, parking on/around the NCC campus is severely limited.
Accordingly, I would suggest trying the city parking deck on Chicago Ave just east of Washington in downtown Naperville. The deck is the equivalent of 2 blocks directly north of the stadium. Walk between Patterson Hall and the small shoping center directly across Chicago from the deck. There is another, larger deck a few blocks NE. Its just west of Washington between Van Buren and Benton. You can enter on either Van Buren or Benton.

For those wanting a gusto before the game, The Lantern is a block SW of the deck entrance. Jimmy's is directly north across Chicago from Lantern. Lantern serves lunch, not sure about dinner. Jimmy's has both food and drink. Also, Bar Louie, Five Guys, and Chipotle are in the strip mall straight across from the deck and just 1/2 block east of Lantern and Jimmy's.

* Bring your umbrella. 75 degrees and 40% chance of rain at 6:00 as of now.

So did UWW's defense look that good? Or were they really not tested today?

Pat Coleman

I only watched about five snaps of this game so my take is based on what's on paper, but the team that TCNJ beat just got shut out by Misericordia, which is just Misericordia's second football win ever. Probably not tested.

Defense had a slow start on the first possession. Once they got over that they settled down. They made plays and looked strong. I don't think they were tested very strongly TCNJ shot themselves in the foot a lot. It was obvious from the start that they were not evenly matched. As the game went on Whitewater just wore them down on both sides of the ball.

Falcons break 14 game losing streak to beat SDSof Mines/Tech. 43-28. Radio announcer ran out of superlatives describing Kusilek's performance:  "Best game I've ever seen a q.b. have on this field."

Kusilek was 32-45 passing w/ no ints., rushed for 99 yds, scored one t.d., passed for 2, kicked 5 extra points, did all punting for our absent regular punter. Falcons had 577 yds of offense.

However, SDSofM/Tech. has allowed 42 pts. per game in 3 losses. They have a hole or two in their D.  ;D

Congrats to the Falcons, Fred.  Nice to see them get one in the left hand column.

Thanks, BW, BC. Maybe I should have given more credit to SDSof M/T. They are Div. 2 and lost to Colorado School of Mines a couple of weeks, who beat Chadron State yesterday, a team that beat RF handily back in the  90's. SDSof M/T is 0-3, but Coach Walker called them a full fledged Div. 2 program--spin, maybe? Anyway, he made the statement in praise of his D. The Falcon offensive output was the fourth best in WIAC history, according to the game report on UWRF site.

Great win for the Falcons on Friday....which kind of salvaged a very rough week for the WIAC.

I really wanted UWP to put up a better fight against NCC (I thought they would actually win). UWP was supposed to be strong on defense with 9 starters returning, but they gave up 7.6 yards per carry on the ground against a NCC team that was suppose to be rebuilding. However, I should know by now NCC doesn't rebuild, it just reloads.....much like most of the top tier teams around DIII.

Congrats to UWRF on the win out in Rapid City over the weekend. Epic game for Ryan Kusilek.  He certainly deserves the WIAC Offensive Player of the Week honor.  If he doesn't get it I'm contacting TMZ!!

Louisville's camo uniforms for their game with Florida State.  This is just flat out ugly.
