One of the main guys (sellouts) with 10 Barrel is Garrett Wales. I'm assuming that's not the same guy who kicked for the Wildcats some years back?

That is 2004 Linfield National Championship place kicker, Garrett Wales. Yeah, not a lot of people are thrilled they sold to A-B but Apoc IPA is still a great beer.

It is the same guy, eh ... I'll be darned.  I don't really care about the sale.  I'm sure they gave it a lot of thought and did the best thing for the business.  No doubt they've got a good thing going.  I filled a growler with that IPA for Thanksgiving over in Bend.

QuoteNice story by D3 on the homepage highlighting the D-Line at Whitewater...linemen need love too.

And apparent lead into the game Saturday by the article...

QuoteWhether it's pressuring a gunslinger in a spread offense or limiting the damage of a mobile quarterback in a read-option attack

Yep. Big challenge again Saturday.  Loved the "solve Sam Riddle" reference. Well done, Josh!  ;)

I'm sure this is the case nearly every year, but there are 4 darn good quarterbacks in the semi's.  I know the NFL is become more of a "best QB wins" kind of league. But I've never really thought of D3 that way. But whatever the case, these four guys are good!

Good point on the QB's.
Interesting contrast in style too.  Burke and Riddle are the run/pass threats, reflecting the latest rage in offensive football at all levels with the read option.
{emphasis added}
Behrendt and Callahan stay home a bit more.
Riddle with 117 rushing attempts and Burke with 99.
Callahan with 50 rushing attempts and Behrendt with 34.

The latest "run/pass threat" being the current Heisman fave.

Why No One Wanted Marcus Mariota
Coaches Often Ignore Hawaiian Players, so Only Oregon Recruited the Heisman Favorite

I thought all Infiniti drivers had $20's and $50's rolled and stuffed in the ashtray where most of us keep nickels and dimes. What's 60 bucks?  ;D
LOL!   Touché but I did buy it used.     ;D

$60, or the extra $40, really, after paying $10 a pop at each game is not a problem.  It's that we would then become part of the problem,  someone who tied up a great tailgating spot the entire regular season only to use it a couple of times a year during possible play-off games   I believe the right process is to go back to the passes expiring at end of the regular season.  The play-offs are another animal, all together!  The attendance so drastically reduces, along with cars in the lot, and any fan willing to show up at 8:00AM when temps/wind chill are single digits or snow is falling/blowing, (yes, we've done both, many times,) should be accommodated over those who don't or those who don't show up at all!!   Having that, front and center, boulevard vacant throughout a play-off tailgate is just lousy P.R. for the program, especially, when the goal is to encourage better attendance numbers for fans/students!  It use to be where the party started for the play-offs!   ;)

Sorry, dog with a bone here,   I'll take my whining to the university after the season.    >:( ;D

Triple take out.  2 of the 3 guru's picking the Wildcats to win in a close one.    :)

The boys will need to come out hot to match, what will be an emotional, amped up, very talented Cat team from the very first whistle.  Should be a barn burner!  Can't wait!   8-)

Fans of both UW-Whitewater and Linfield are one day away from yet another playoff matchup between two heavyweight NCAA III football Websites. Both programs have been fortunate to be home to two of the top individual team "fan" websites in the country

Thanks Voice, that's kind of you.  catdomealumni is da' bomb that's for sure.

If anyone wants to check out them BOTH, here is a short writeup of "THE GAME", including a video link to a video produced by catdomealumni.com.  (Including a picture of a linebacker whose services would be really handy tomorrow!) :)

Actually, the picture includes a couple of linebackers who could help out on ANY day. But only one of them played in "THE GAME".

"The Game"  UW-Whitewater 44, Linfield 41 (2005 D3 Quarterfinal). Then UWW head coach Bob Berzowitz calls it the best game he ever has been involved in as a coach or player. MUST SEE VIDEO leading up to tomorrow's D3 semifinal between the Warhawks and Linfield at the Perk (2:30 kickoff)

I know I've been posting a lot in advance of tomorrow's Linfield-Whitewater game at Perkins Stadium.  Don't know how much longer I'm going to be around. I just want to be as much a part of marketing this game as I can. It's hard to believe I've been promoting (radio and print) since 1988. What a great last quarter century!!  I guess I'm a little too exited huh?  Hope to see you at the Perk tomorrow!!
