That game was for the ages.

So was the Mount half of the other semi! ;D

For anyone who was unaware, UMU led 70-0 after 3, before inserting all the guys as far down the depth chart as the shortened playoff rosters allow for the 4th. IF UMU plays like that next week, I don't think even UWW can touch them.  But I doubt they can - that was as near perfect a game as any team has played since, oh, UWW in last year's Stagg! :D

Everyone is aware of that Ypsi, we don't live under rocks here. Sounds like you're just trying to draw the ire of Warhawk fans?

Kinda odd in an uninteresting way that Burke was still throwing TD passes up 63-0. I'm pretty certain, you'd never see a Whitewater starting QB or a Whitewater QB in general throwing TD passes up 63-0 in any game. I guess style points - that's what they were - matter to you.  Maybe we should just award Mount the Walnut and Bronze in Alliance tomorrow in a special ceremony and save everyone the expense of traveling to Salem.  Just remember UMU was playing another lousy Wesley defensive team...enough said. Embarrassments like this are part of the reason why we only get on watch DIII on ESPN3 and not the original one.

Yes and I lost a lot of respect for Mt. Union!!    Bush league move.     I sure hope WWW wins next week.

Warhawk,

Congrats today.   You clearly played the better game.   Our first half was horrible.

I wish you the best next week.  Beat Mount Unon like last year!!!

Next year, hopefully I can visit you when we meet again in Wisconsin.

hopefully your game is part 2 of an epic battle.  good luck to both teams, but go Linfield!  Safe travels to all Linfield fans and good luck to both teams in the game.  Will be listening on the way home from a Wesley victory in Alliance.

The battle scoreboard:

dud 1
epic 1

...guess your drive home wasn't epic part 3?

Wesley since 2005 consistently the most overrated high seed in the playoffs(worried too much about the canon)....Missed being at the Perk but coverage of the game was fine.....Good luck in Salem and POUND the ROCK....

You couldn't be more wrong about my position.  I thought they should remove Burke at the half (or at least after the first series of the third quarter).  I have no clue why VK would risk any of his starters, but especially Burke, when already up 56, much less up 63.  To still be throwing TD passes, especially by your starting qb, was IMO both poor sportsmanship AND just plain stupid.

And, for the record, I think UWW is the favorite next week.  I just don't think UMU can play that kind of game two weeks in a row.

as a mostly unbiased observer I'll say this---if Whitewater doesn't get pressure on Burke then it's gonna be a long day for the Warhawks---Wesley gave him all day to throw and there are too many good receiver on the MT U offense for him to throw to if he has time.  That being said, I think both teams will be prepared and I don't think we'll see anything like we did in the first game today (or last year's Stagg)...
Go Cats!

While I was watching it looked like MUC had pretty much free reign on passing?  :P

Both semifinal games and a quick Stagg Bowl preview were just on SportsCenter, always nice to see some D3 love there.

How many of Burke's 20 touchdown passes did they show?   ;)

I think it was 4.  :P

Also highlighted Moore's game winning TD run and Flood's 4th and 3 QB sack.

Re Mount Union not letting up:  This happened for one reason and one reason only - the 2013 game started out 31-0 and ended up 62-59.

Anybody with the slightest bit of historical knowledge and the slightest bit of intellectual integrity would confirm this.

D O.C.

Please, let's say it was a signal to University of Wisconsin (Whitewater) as much as anything. All out, like LINFIELD couldn't do, and University of Wisconsin (Whitewater) wins.
I don't predict often, but I am.
I think it's West thing.

Say the what?

Leipold's been kicking the arses of Kehres pere and Kehres fils all over Salem the last few years.  (Unfortunately.)  There's no score that Mount Union could have won by today that would have "sent Whitewater a message."

31-0, then 62-59 is the reason for today's continued scoring by Mount.  Well, that, and a second-half pick six, which can hardly be blamed on Mount's offense.

???

I'm not sure what drug you're under the influence of or if that drug is just wearing off, but :

1.  the pick 6 wasn't in the second half, but the second quarter -
2.  nobody was blaming Mount's offense for a pick 6 - but it was partially responsible for Mounts continued scoring - you lost me there, Edward. Care to explain?

Those two items make me question if you have the slightest bit of intellectual integrity (I use that phrase loosely, because like you, I have no idea what it means; I hope retagent can tell us!)

Frankly, I don't really care what Mount decides to do with their personnel. Just thought it was odd that VK felt the Raiders couldn't hold a 56 point halftime lead against a team that was more than capable of tripping over their own two feet, all by themselves. It screams of inferiority complex.
