But one thing I have learned in my life (coming from the deep south of Dallas, Texas and Sarasota, Florida) that the English-American language is up in the air what's right and what's wrong.
Just because a large number of people don't use the English language correctly doesn't mean there aren't hard and fast rules on what's correct English and what's not.

I was a little surprised by your somewhat casual reaction to fredfalcon's critique.  If you're serious about going into journalism as a profession, mistakes like those should really bother you.  It's those mistakes that quickly separate decent journalism from some half-ass effort.  I'd encourage you to take a little more attention to detail.

I don't think Chuck Norris could make the Whitewater team this year if he tried out.
Chuck Norris will deliver a roundhouse kick to CaptainKurt's head for even suggesting there is something that Chuck Norris can't do.

Outer space exists because it's afraid to be on the same planet with Chuck Norris.

Chuck Norris does not sleep. He waits.

Chuck Norris is currently suing NBC, claiming Law and Order are trademarked names for his left and right legs.

Chuck Norris is the reason why Waldo is hiding.

Chuck Norris counted to infinity - twice.

There is no chin behind Chuck Norris' beard. There is only another fist.

When Chuck Norris does a pushup, he isn't lifting himself up, he's pushing the Earth down.

Chuck Norris is so fast, he can run around the world and punch himself in the back of the head.

Chuck Norris' hand is the only hand that can beat a Royal Flush.

Chuck Norris's urine is the main ingrediant of Balco's designer steroids.

Or my all time favorite:

When Chuck Norris gives you the finger he isn't insulting you, he's telling you how many seconds you have left to live.

a close second:

If you can see Chuck Norris, he can see you.  If you can't see Chuck Norris you may be only seconds away from death.

I really like the Waldo one too.

Anyone attend the EC..St Thomas scrimmage Saturday?  Who will we see at QB for the Bluegolds?

I was there and #16 was the starting QB.  Sorry, I don't have a name for you but he looked pretty solid.  St. Thomas looked really good against the EC defense.  The starting RB for EC got stuffed quite a bit.  Number 45 for St. Thomas completely controlled the trenches.  He ate the EC O-linemen up.  EC played a couple Freshman RB's as the scrimmage went on and they looked really good.  One a speedster that hit the hole quick and the other one a slippery slasher type of RB.  This conference definitely houses stables of RB's at almost every school.

On the Mary-Hardin and Whitewater game, we tried to pick the 10 best WIAC games, and we did include some non-conference games at the beginning of the season (RF/EC vs. St. Johns, and Point's trip to Texas).

When considering the game in question, at least I felt that the game was so late in the season that it really didn't affect the WIAC a whole lot. If Whitewater were to lose that game, then it would hurt their chances of what seed they would be in the play-offs, but if they finished undefeated in the WIAC again, then the game doesn't mean squat.

At that point in the season, we should know type of team Whitewater has.
Non-conference games for EC/RF/Point will tell us what type of team's we should expect for the upcoming year.

One game I wish that I brought up was the La Crosse vs. South Dakota match up.

Mr. Downtown.

Thanks for the reply !!  I thought that might be the case but was just curious.  Best of luck to the WIAC (with a couple of exceptions).   ;)

I just wanted to say hi.
This is my son's first year at Stevens Point. I don't know alot about DivIII football but im learning about the different teams and all.

KTN,
Don't listen to anybody else on this board, other than myself.  Read all of my posts and study them.  Everyone on here, with the exception of badgerwarhawk, is full of it.  I on the other hand, and full of knowledge and wisdom.  Welcome to the board.  Good luck to your son (except against Whitewater) ;).

Captain K,

I fully agree with your thoughts on BadgerWarhawk, but I am very disappointed you didn't throw a little love my way!  Who's your daddy baby?

Mr. Downtown--I didn't criticize the headline. It was the first sentence of the story I called to your attention: "Let's be honest, no one outside of Whitewater, Wisconsin, or alumni of predicted the season UW-Whitewater had last year." I suggest that Josh Nelson meant to say something a little different, in a little better way, than that. But that's not the most obvious of the gaffes in the piece.

I agree with Just Bill. I'll bet you pay a bit more attention to your writing when you write your resume. If not, don't try for a job in journalism.

Short of contacting the University itself with my question, I thought I'd start on this board (this is my first post, besides coming here would be more interesting than calling the school).

Does anyone know why UW-L has TWO bye weeks?  And of their nine game schedule, only THREE game are at home?  Who's responsible for this inequity?  It just doesn't seem right.  I'm more curious than upset.

Looking forward to another great season of DIII football!

Welcome aboard.  You will want to buy the kickoff special that the D3 guys offer as it will be very helpful to learn about all the teams.  Can't wait to get this thing started.   Best of luck to your son this year (save the first game!).

After watching the Warhawks scrimmage against Elmhurst I think A.J. Raebel (Warhawk linebacker) will have a monster year. The guy has really packed on some weight to his frame. I overheard his mother say that he has put on 25 pounds since the Stagg Bowl and without a loss of speed. He is up to 240 pounds.

I sure hope so.  AJ's a good guy.  I hope to see him play come December!!!!!
