Hi, I'm Tom Pattison and I'm excited to be able to launch my Voice's Eye on Warhawk Football Blog this morning.

This is the latest of my UW-Whitewater football sites by way of Oh Baby Sports Productions.

Previously I operated Warhawkfootball.com and my Voices Eye on Football Blog.

I will be posting virtually everyday during training camp and throughout the season.

Please check in daily. GO WARHAWKS

Great start Tom.  I look forward to another source for WARHAWK news.

The WSUC/WIAC has always (it seems) had tremendous talent throughout the years. I just wonder why it didn't convert to better success in the post season overall, prior to the 2000's? La Crosse won national championships Maslowski's junior year and during the Tom Newberry period ('85?) and had a couple other teams make some noise in the post season, but really no one else did.  Any thoughts why?

I would argue the WSUC made a lot of noise nationally when they played in the NAIA. La Crosse won two national championships, Stevens Point made it to the title game, and River Falls and Platteville each had a playoff appearance in the 1970s and 80s. For those on here too young to have seen La Crosse in the 1980s, you missed something special.

Yea, I've heard horror stories about them from former UWW players and "long-time" UWW fans.

I know UWW's run can can't last forever, so hopefully 30-40 years from now we can look back at Whitewater being "something special" in the (late) 2000's and 2010's.

30-40 years?  Some of us might have a hard time with that, young feller ......
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Um, I'm a Packer Backer...

But anyway, you want to hear a real Bears joke?
Jay Cutler...

What's the difference between a Bears fan and a crying baby?
The baby will eventually stop whining...

Thank you, thank you very much. I'll be here all week...

Mr. Ypsi

Is that joke related to: how do Green Bay residents keep bears out of their backyards?  Put up goalposts.

As a Lions fan, I'm neutral in that discussion - when they play I work on scenarios where they could both lose!  (Alas, I haven't found the magic bullet yet! ;D)

I believe that Pat is a Vikings fan, so perhaps we can join forces to find a loophole where a Bears-Packers game can result in TWO losses!

Bear jokes:

Q: Why does West Africa have Ebola and Chicago has the Bears?
A: West Africa had first choice.

Q: Why are the Bears happy to have Jay Cutler as their QB?
A: Because they were running out of Rex Grossman effigies!

Q: What do the Chicago Bears and Billy Graham have in common?
A: They both can make 70,000 people stand up and yell "Jesus Christ".

Q: If you have a car containing a Bears wide receiver, a Bears linebacker, and a Bears defensive back, who is driving the car?
A: The cop.

Q: How do the Bears spend the first week of training camp?
A: Studying the Miranda Rights

I can go on....;D

Yes, uwl had outstanding teams during the 1980's , but uwrf was pretty decent also. My check of the records shows that uwrf was 6-4 vs uwl from 1980-89. Uwrf won or shared 5 conference championships to 4 for uwl during that span. One of the best football games I have ever seen was uwrf's come from behind 22-21 homecoming win in 1986. Uwrf trailed 21-7 and converted a 2-point try after coming back to 21-20, primarily through passing out of the wishbone. They scored the 2 point conversion on an option play.  It was also coach farley's 100th win at uwrf. However, one can only applaud uwl's performance in the playoffs over the years.

The Green Bay Blizzard of the Indoor Football League have signed former Warhawk QB Matt Behrendt to their roster.

OF COURSE we have hatred for Aaron Rodgers (and Bret Favre before him).  But we also despise all Bears. ;D

For that matter, we despise EVERY TEAM that has ever made it to the Super Bowl!  I am beginning to doubt that the Lions will ever do it in my lifetime.  C'mon guys - I am only 67.  Ya don't even have to win it - just make it once - please! ::)
