Packers Training Camp Review - August 4

Larry McCarren, the packers radio analyst, had some kind words about and a few comments from Matt Blanchard in this video presentation on packers.com.

The Blanchard section basically ends the video and starts approximately at the 2 min 44 sec mark of the 3 min 13 sec video.

Big thanks for all who have logged onto my new Voices Eye on Warhawk Football Website. I posted a story on Mike "Cannon Man" Lesko at 3:30 this morning. Over 1000 hits already on the story. That is extremely inspiring for me. Warhawk fans are the best!

I heard a rumor that Ricky Finco is no longer with the Dub-
Someone please, say it ain't so.

It is so.

Wide receiver was really the only position I was concerned about offensively.  Unfortunately what depth there was just got thinner.  Someone that we're not that familiar with, if at all familiar, is going to have to step up.

Kumerow getting a lot of notice at Bengal camp. Here's another article from Cincy Jungle:

QuoteOur own Josh Kirkendall said after the first four days of practice he could see Kumerow making the roster; Coley Harvey with ESPN has said to keep an eye on Kumerow and Richard Skinner with Local 12 referred to him as "the one who interests me the most."

Whatever happened to Marcus Hudson? I mean did he get injuried or what? He played his last game on or about the Stevens Point game on 11/8; it was then when Ricky Finco started making his biggest contributions statistically - 21 of his 23 receptions and all four of his TD's - came after Hudson got no more PT - coincidence, did Hudson find the doghouse or injury related?  Prior to that, Hudson showed good moves and looked good for a freshman; had a 20.6 yd avg in reception for the 9 games he played. In those 9 games Finco played in 5 and had only 2 catches. After the Point game we didn't see Hudson again.

Look for Freddy Bobo to step up. With a name like that, we can't go wrong!!

A couple incoming WR to keep an eye on:  Mitchell Dess, 5'11" from South Milwaukee HS, someone compared him to Justin Howard and Nathaniel Osterloo, athletic & 6'3" from Mt. Horeb/Barneveld and also a member of their state champion BB team.  They were previously mentioned on here a few weeks ago. Both scored TD's in the state all-star game for the south team. There's another kid out of state champion Wisconsin Lutheran HS in Milwaukee who could be in the mix; he was also a state qualifier in the hurdles. You can find him on twitter and hudl. And another from Beloit Memorial HS. We can start mentioning their names once camp opens and they are competing. Not sure their names are out their publically. Another one from Kenosha - the list goes on and on. If you see their hudl hightlight reels, you'll be smiling.

I guess when you're the new guys on the block, you drum up support everywhere, even a GM Engine factory near Buffalo, all in a days work for a new coach!! Just signing autographs require wearing safety glasses - OSHA must be pleased!!

I've seen Osterloo play a few times and he's a nice receiver.  But I'll be surprised if he makes much of a contribution this year.  There is also a 6'3" (or about) receiver from Milton HS who has previously said that he'd be coming.  I'm blanking on his name right now, maybe Weberpal.  He's a nice athlete.
