If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

What was the outcome of the Outlaws game?

We won 28 -21.  Jim Leszczynski caught the go-ahead touchdown with 1:30 left in the 4th to close out the game.

The updated scores are posted in the Pick'em's board.

I sure was wrong questioning LAX staff for sceduling a D-IAA team.  Amazing win for the Eagles.  WW vs LAX might be the real national championship game!!

How is EC travelling? That's a heck of a drive.

Yikes, I thought that was a road game. Let the NAIA team bus it. Sorry 'bout that. Best of luck to EC.

The only bad parts of the Whitewater game on Saturday were the following
Warhawks inability to run the ball
Ryan Kleppe breaking his arm
How pathetic Lakeland played. Although I did enjoy watchign the Hawks putting a 75 spot on them.
I am not worried about Kleppe as I think he will be ready by September 23 when the Hawks play Oshkosh
I am worried about the inability to run the ball. Yes I know Lakeland had 8 guys in the box but every team is going to be doing that as well as most likely running some type of double coverage on Stanley.
The defense still maintains their bend but don't break mentality as they allowed lakeland to sustain a big drive but then forced a turnover or something as they got closer to the end zone
I am sure Asuza Pacific will pose a bigger challenge a week from Saturday as they are a NAIA Scholarship team from California amd I am sure they have more talent then Lakeland.

There are a couple things you have to think about.   When you have 8 men in the box to stop the run you have no choice but to play man or some sort of zone, that means no double teamin Stanley or someone will be open..  Also Reuland was not playin in the game because of a broken hand or wrist(not sure for sure) which meant the Hawks had a fullback in with no experience or they were running out of a 3 wide set.  This meant someone was always unblocked in the box, hence the big day by Jacobs..
If you wanna be good practice till you get it right, if you wanna be great practice till you cant get it wrong..

Regarding the defense maintaining a "bend but don't break. " mentality, considering that the starters played together as a unit a very small portion of the time,  I wouldn't draw many conclusions from this game.  The two long drives were with  back-ups playing who weren't even on the 2-deep roster.  Lakeland was still held to 14 points.

Quote from Warhawkfootball.com:

"The big positive was that the entire UW-W roster saw considerable playing time in the game. The starters all played less than two quarters before calling it a night."

Another thing we need to get cleaned up is the penalties, 9/92 yards.  That won't fly against good WIAC teams.

I don't suppose anyone's got info on the River Falls team that we'll be seeing in Collegeville this Saturday.  I know they've abandoned the wishbone, but that is about it.

A tradition unrivaled...

Nathan Anderson, Nathan Anderson, Nathan Anderson, that's really all you need to know.   ;)

Seriously no one is quite sure what River Falls is up to.  But it's hard to imagine it's anything that doesn't put the ball in the their stud runner's hands often.   I guess we'll see.

Perhaps you would do us the favor of telling us what it looked like afterward?

As for tendancies on River Falls, if they don't run, then their passing.  Don't let them catch the ball.  Follow my advice and you should be in good shape.
