Careful posting this in the WIAC room, jknezek.  This is their house.

BoBo will come and slaughter you and destroy any pride that you have.

I'm disappointed that my turkey discussion from yesterday never got any traction.

I postulate that dark meat is better than white meat.

Wally said he was up before me. I'm trying to jump the queue. Need Wally around for his comprehensive Pool B & C analysis in a few weeks. That is the best discussion of the year.

Then we can count on you guys to nitpick our posts to death as we offer up opinions.  ;)

I don't like/am nervous about the parallels of this game to the 2007 game against St Cloud State. Then again, I think this team is much better at this point in the year than the 2007 team was. I think UWW can and will win, I'm just going to be nervous right up until the clock hits 0.

If we turn the ball over like we did in that game we've got a problem.  If it weren't for turnovers I think we had a pretty good shot at winning that game in 2007.  An interception and three lost fumbles cost 17 points in what was a  26-16 loss.  All four turnovers gave St Cloud short fields (less than 40 yards).   You just can't do that against decent teams and expect to win.

Ugly mess, we don't need that. The WEATHER though might be an ugly mess, looks like it's going to be raining during the game. If so I'd say advantage UWW with our pound the rock offense. Hold onto the ball, I think we can win this by 10-13, lets go boys, you can do it! Show the world how UWW plays and then pound out two more tough ones against UWP and UWO in the next two weeks!

Wasn't that Danny Jones very first game?

yup

I just checked, they beat Lakeland 41-7 the week before which is a weak showing against them. So second game, new QB, new main receivers. Still blah!

What an incredible gesture.  The pressure is now on for me to bring it in a few weeks so that your sacrifice will not have been in vain.

At very least, (it's safe to assume that) we'll be able to see the Hawks' starters play a full 4 quarters for the first time this season. Anxious to see Nelson get into a rhythm...which is something he hasn't had the luxury of doing yet.

Since we are now asking and answering our own questions....

Am I the smartest guy posting on this board? Yes. Is everyone else an idiot? Yes. Are the Johnnies the best team in America? Yes.

And there you have it folks.

One out of three ain't bad.  In the major leagues that sort of output would get you a big, juicy long-term contract.
