Another Friday night game. YUK!!

I would think that Friday night games would piss off HS coaches, and thus impair recruiting (and clearly such games would impair a coaching staff's ability to SCOUT HS games for recruits).  I'm always surprised when such games get scheduled.

Friday nights are for high school football...that is the way it is and should remain....

Ryan Zuern RB "commits" to UWW*. Looks like he had a great career in Hartford.

Hartford RB Ryan Zuern (6'0, 185) plans to enroll at UW-Whitewater next year....

The all-Wisconsin Little Ten performer ran for at least 1,250 yards in both his sophomore and junior seasons while averaging 7.2 yards per carry and scoring 28 touchdowns.  He followed that up with a senior season where he ran for 1,943 yards on 292 carries, a 6.7-yard average, and scored 18 touchdowns.  For his efforts, he was named the Wisconsin Little Ten Offensive Player of the Year.  Zuern's shining moment was a 35-carry, 350-yard performance in a 38-21 victory over rival Slinger in Week 9. He averaged about 26 carries per game as a senior and 22 per game the past three years.

I see 02 posted right before me, but figured I would post anyway in case anything is different from the link he posted.

Just  confirming what we probably assumed, but UW-Oshkosh is making the return trip to John Carroll September 2nd! Should have added intrigue, given the fact that it will be a semi final rematch (and the third meeting in 1 calendar year!)

Former UWW O Coordinator, Jim Zebrowski, joins LL's staff at U of Buffalo as QB coach.

Good for Lance, but I sure would have liked to see Jim come back to UWW.

Right now LL needs him more. LL is going to have to do something this year, cause his seat is getting hot. He'd probably have more time if the AD that hired him had stuck around, but without him, the new AD isn't going to want someone else's guy having another year like this year dragging him down.

My understanding is that Lance's buyout is $1M.  While that is basically pocket change for some schools it's a much bigger deal to someplace like Buffalo.  The new AD is the one who gave him an extension through 2020 but that was after the 2015 season which was more successful than this past one.

I think Zembrowski is an excellent hire.  I also think that Lance will be successful in Buffalo given time to have his recruits mature.  Their roster was one of the youngest in the NCAA last year.

I hope you are right. I hope he is given enough time to succeed. But this year was an unmitigated disaster. Next year has to be better.

Hopefully Z will have a great and positive impact on the UB QB. LL's first year he inherited a 3 yr starter. Sounds like a good thing but I don't think it was.
His second year he ultimately decides on a freshman (true freshman I believe).

If I remember correctly Tarek Yaeggi transferred to La Crosse from Buffalo.

Yaeggi wasn't at UB very long.
This may have been shared in 2016, but it's a good article on Yaeggi's journey, w a little UB insight.
