Just what a Wisconsinite expects from you Illinois folks.

Illinois needs Wisconsin for:
a) Milwaukee - a nice-sized big city (yes, a city with a metro of 1.5+ million is a big city) that isn't nearly as mammoth as Chicago, so they can come up here for festivals, sports events, etc., and not have to deal with the insane traffic, the long lines, the ridiculous prices, and
b) the many beautiful recreational opportunities that Wisconsin offers.

Wisconsin needs Illinois for:
a) Chicago - a huge city with typical huge-city type amenities that only a few cities in the US can offer, and
b) the tourism and tax dollars that Illinois folks bring to their economy.

Really, truly, both states need each other, just like any productive region of the nation has inter-state synergies.

I have a question for you emma - I would like to know WHY Northern Illinois people rarely seem to even acknowledge the southern counties of Illinois, like those between the Mississippi and the Ohio rivers which is the home of the Shawnee National Forest, in my opinion the most beautiful part of your state. The drive there can't be any further than your favorite northern Wisconsin hangouts.

What IL needs WI for? Answer: Summer getaways and retirement.

Each summer you'll see more IL plates than WI in areas like the Wisconsin Dells and Lake Geneva. Also many IL families will spend their summers in the north woods on a lake (fishing, camping, boating, etc...). Speaking of Lake Geneva, my parents (from IL) recently retired to the Lake Geneva area, and in their subdivision there are more IL retirees than WI.

I do see many IL people in Milwaukee, but there's a greater concentrate of them in the Dells and Lake Geneva. With the exception being when the Cubs play at Miller Park. Cubs fans flock to Milwaukee by the thousands for a weekend series. I would say Cubs fans out number Brewers fans 3 to 1 in Miller Park. That's no exaggeration. #WrigleyNorth  ;D

2016 OAC CHAMPS! AND MY OWN SELF-PROCLAIMED RUNNERS-UP TO THE RUNNERS-UP.

warhawkguard

Hey fellas.

Been reading a lot and not posting. Finally figured out my password to log in again. lol.

Its time for the season to begin!

Feeling optimistic that the Warhawk offense will look a bit more lively now with a new OC - let us pray...

Last year's team was pretty great, but couldn't score when it needed to. Hopefully this is cured. I haven't seen too much about the new OC yet, where did he come from, etc...

Looking forward to see if the changes help return the Hawks to elite levels or just stay pretty darn good.

Halftime and ETBU has 37. Two picks. A kick return for a TD and an offense that UWP hasn't stopped. UWP is moving the ball, all passing.
UWP's playoff hopes rest on this second half.

Pat Coleman

ETBU has given up points in bunches in the past, so Platteville will have plenty of opportunities.

You are the swami. 38-37 UWP in the third.

Traditionally ETBU has put up points, but the Tigers defense usually lacks a lot to be desired.

Down 30-7 at half, Pville wins 59-44.

I don't think it was 30-7, but they had a great second half. Two entirely different halves of football. UWP blocked two punts, stuffed the run on D and opened holes in the running game.
Congratulations.
