Although I do enjoy the UWW student video production and announcing of the games, they sure are merciless when it comes to the opposition. They were heavily focused on UWW breaking their scoring record. When it comes to results of the other WIAC teams, they do rejoice at the news of a loss, and the impact it will have on rankings of the conference foes. Last week they were overjoyed with the UWO loss, and this week, with UWP and UWL.

They do a great job overall though-replay, sideline reports, halftime and post game interviews with da coach and a nice half-time show. Kudos to the crew.

Interesting that you bring up UWW TV - I have a lot of comments about that subject. I have to rely on UWW TV & have for over 10 years, if I want to see the game. I think I've seen everything when it comes to UWW TV football, basketball, and the occasional baseball game - the good, the bad, the ugly. This year the camera work has been pretty good. They have added a new camera placement at ground level which shows a nice close-up change of pace. They do tend to miss long pass attempts along the sidelines from their high camera, but since Cole Wilber is rarely on target anyway, not much is missed. I have a differing opinion regarding the announcers, however. I realize they are students learning the craft, but none of the them, especially the sideline guy and the pre-game/half-time crew seem to have much knowledge of football. The guys in the booth take the idea of impartiality to an extreme and have for the past couple years - much of the time, they appear to root for the visitors. They get overly excited over routine plays, which gets annoying to listen to. And it's like one cliché after another. Boring! I guess, in a way, they are just like the pro's.  Also, I sure wish the production provided a way to shut down the close captions that is constantly being shown on screen. I don't mind the captions in a noisy bar or restaurant. But in my home - why? Give us a way to shut it off in streaming mode. If is wasn't bad enough having to listen to them, you have to read their words too...brutal!! I do like the low, low cost to tune in, though!!  ;D

I haven't seen UWW TV, but the bar is set pretty low for the announcers at most WIAC events I've seen, or for that matter, any D3 telecast. However, the whole notion of being able to watch live-streamed WIAC and D3 sports, at home, on my SmartTV, is entirely awesome.

The bar is set low around the WIAC and the DIII world.  But at least at UWW TV, they are challenging their students to gain experience behind the microphone besides all the other technical roles involved in a tv production. They don't exactly strike oil with what they say or how they say it, but you have to give them credit for making the attempt. Many places have no audio whatsoever - not even a open mike to hear a public address announcer, crowd noise, or an officials whistle or explanation of a penalty. Other places have the dreaded simulcast going on, which "showcase" some really bad local announcing. All in all, its better to have UWW TV than not have.

Meanwhile, out East, The Buffalo Bulls are 3-0 for the first time in forever. They play Rutgers this weekend for what may be another big win for them as Rutgers seems just awful so far this year. Woot! Coach Liepold.

Hoping for nothing but continued success for Coach LL, staff and program. They are a fun team to watch.

Kinda wish they were only 2-1, since they beat EMU right after EMU beat Purdue. :(

They certainly should  beat Rutgers - bad as Purdue is for a Big 10 team, Rutgers is almost certainly even worse.

This week is a good opportunity for UWO, UWL and UWW to recharge/regroup/retrench, etc. The three programs each launched the season with new and/or inexperienced offenses. UWO and UWL with new players- especially at the skill positions including QB, and UWW with a new offense/offensive coordinator. They are 7-2 between them with the only losses coming to scholarship schools. They've all played and beaten at least one solid D3 team this year.

There is a lot of good for these teams to build on. Next weekend is going to be very interesting.

Looks like UW-W's recruiting strategy in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin will go uninterrupted after all. Benedictine reversing course and remaining in D-III.

Yep. Good old fashioned beat-down:

Buffalo 42
Rutgers 13

02 Warhawk

Yet Purdue knocks off #23 Boston College today for their first win of the season....

Thank you UW-Stout parents and student body, from California Lutheran University parents. What a great experience tailgating with the parents of Stout, and the Midwest hospitality. These parents and former student are a great example of the American football spirit, not one heckle other than come on over and have some great food. Game didn't end up in our favor but the memory was great! Just funny how Linemen parents always bond and I have to give a shout out to the parents of Tom Roble and we'll see you Next year to tailgate at the beach LoL.
Thanks and best of luck in the toughest D3 conference.

That was a nice post Astro. I'm not surprised you were warmly welcomed. We've found throughout our travels the overwhelming majority of Wisconsin folk are fun loving and happy to include new people- except for UWO (I think they still have a complex).

As a UWW guy, I'll always think kindly of CLU; they gave Danny Jones the QB reins and development time before he transferred here and led the Warhawks to the first national championship.

It's from all those years of being called UW-Zero.
