UWP touchdown was also an 80 yard pass.  Back-to-back 80 yard TD's!

La Crosse pounds Eau Claire 42-14. Eau Claire uses two LX turnovers late in first half to cut 21-0 deficit to 21-14. La Crosse dominates 2nd half.

500+ yards for La Crosse. Good day for Schuman.

Nice rebound by La Crosse, something they failed to do after the WW loss a year ago.

SCORING UPDATE:  UWW 21 - UWP 7, Jacobs to Douglas TD 18 yard pass. Described by the Warhawk radio broadcast as a defensive tipped ball and caught in the end zone - not a pretty pass, but nevertheless, another 7. About 2 min. remaining in the first.

End of 1 in Platteville UWW 21 - UWP 7. Unofficial stats have WW with 245 total yards, UWP 114 (89 coming on the TD pass). It may be the start of a long day for the Pioneers. :

WW sure is passing a lot.  I know they are without Beaver, but I'm surprised they are passing as much as they are.

BoBo, we are looking forward to UWW coming to Texas next week.  Any fans making the trip to Belton, be sure to let the UMHB fans know and they can give you suggestions on great places to eat.  That should be a great game.  I'm sorry we will not get a chance to see Beaver play.

Wild first half in Platteville.  UWW 28-UWP 14.
Team STATS:

From listening to the game, you have to feel UWP is still in the game.  Both TD were quick strikes. UWP is going to have to pick it up in the rushing dept. to keep the passing game as successful in the 2nd half.  Mike Genslinger only is 4 rushes for  8 yards - pretty much a non-factor (he was supposed to be the best back on the field today according to UWP posters earlier this week).  Stanley & Danielson are dualing at 4-120-2 td and 7-128-1 td, respectively.  Jacobs with a slight edge at QB.  UWW running back by committee has been steady, but not spectacular. Platteville gets the ball to start the 2nd half

Platteville starts the second half with a 3 and out. UWW takes over and starts a nice drive, but after a catch and run, Schmitt fumbled and UWP recovers at the UWP 17.  Fourth turn over of the day for UWW (both UWP scores came after turn-overs).
Gensliger rushes for 10 to start the UWP drive.

3rd qtr ends with WW leading UWP 35-14 and driving for another. UWP has been on defense much of the quarter and it is beginning to show as UWW is starting to dominate at the line of scrimmage.
