Getting back to the issue at hand. I read an article in this morning's Janesville paper that sang the praises of Reasnover. It was quite positive. However, and maybe as a non WIAC boot licker, I can post this.

I'm a reasonably healthy 68 year old. I could probably tear up a Pop Warner league. Put me in against high schoolers, and I'm dead in the water. Maybe even against middle school also. The quality of competition is a great factor. I see that Eureka was beaten (by 1) by Lakeland. Platteville crushed Lakeland 42 - 12. I'm not one for these chain comparisons, but, in this case, there is such a disparity in talent and competition, that it is pretty obvious what lies ahead for Eureka. Reasnover may be a RB who could be the featured back for UWW, but he doesn't have the players around him to do what he has been doing this year on Saturday.

Saturday's box score will read: 65 yards on 21 carries, 1 TD (which will come late in the 4th).

Let's face it, the problem Eureka/Reasnover will have is if they are unable to pass the ball. If their only hope for gaining yardage is Reasnover, he's going to have a difficult time carrying the ball 20+ times (let alone 40+) with UWW keying him. Eureka needs the ol plan of deception- the sneak attack, the diversion, the hey, I didn't think you could do that, or the hey, where did that kid come from, sort of game plan.

I think 65 is generous. Parks for UST is as good, with a much better offense around him, and Bethel held him to under 50.

The crux of the issue is that he's going to be under duress all game long and his Oline will be significantly outmatched. See UST's D results from last year. I know, now he's a senior. But he's also facing a better defensive front.

My train of thought is he's a senior, so he'll play a ton in his final game. When UWW is resting their defense, when the game is out of hand, he'll be able to pick up some yards and get into the endzone against UWW's 2nd and 3rd unit.

First have numbers for him however....probably won't be pretty.

I read D3fooball's write-up of each region. I was kind of shocked to see all the Wartburg and NCC love against Bethel. I guess we'll see. The potential matchup between NCC and Bethel will be the best game in the second round.

On a side note...jeez, Mount Union can sleep walk to the Stagg Bowl. Again.

Like a Statue of Liberty combined with a double pass as part of a hook and lateral??

Imagine the signal/call for that play coming in.

The left side of the Eureka offensive line seems a little light in the pants.  Right side is really good size, though.  I would imagine all the power runs will be to the left..

Bethel has steadily improved.  When SJU played there this fall, they were good but definitely had some gaps.  They've really come into their own as the season has progressed, and they'll be tough to beat.  I think they'll get by Wartie easily, and the NCC game will be a good one.

Mount can't sleep walk past John Carroll. I'm sure you remember a few years back. I know! I know! Different teams but still. I think John Carroll beats a whole bunch of playoff teams. No sleep walk here! 😄

Maybe not 8 hours of deep sleep, but JCU will be like waking up to fix the covers or hit the head- you'll hop right back in bed and wake up in Texas.

Good problem to have. Especially knowing that those two can battle for 1st team all WIAC in two more seasons after this.  8-)
